Too early to tell reliability, this is my work horse 30K a year. went back to American 1st time in many years. need to support our icons. I have been watching the mile per gallon indicator setting trying to maximize. So far GM's claims are far fetched I avg 21- 22 total street and hwy combined. hope that improves like a good wine with age as it breaks in. Sometimes at light car flutters and stalls out. I told dealer and they said to bring in that iy may be a bad sensor.

I love my equinox. I was looking at a 2009, but hated that they got the same gas mileage as the Traverse...so I started looking at a Traverse. It was too rich for my blood. Then the 2010 NOX ad looked nice with a much improved MPG...took my wife on a whim just to look at one...both loved the improvements and lower price and left with a new Chevy.

I certainly seem to think so, I LOVE this car not only does it ride like a breeze, it's extremely comfortable. The only regret with this vehicle I wish I purchased the next model up with the power-lift gate and a few more bells and whistles, maybe my next one. Other cars I looked at was Toyota rav, Honda CRV, Nissan Murano..Equinox won my heart. excellent gas mileage, beautiful interior, comfortable smooth ride.

At 6'7" I need some leg room. I was looking at Toyota Highlanders because the Rav4 did not have enough leg room and I was sick of Chevy's (having had multiple problems with my Blazer) My father in-law bought one of these and raved about it so I stopped at a dealer and tried it out. Does not feel like a Chevy and for the price I got the all wheel drive which I could not afford on the Highlander. So far so good, no complaints.

I'm on a tight budget with a family of 4 and needed something that will last ten years and grow with the children. After testing 4 different new and 5 used models I felt the Equinox LS offered the best value for the $$. I would have liked to upgrade to LT, but it was too much of a stretch. That said, you get a lot of "upgrade" level features on the LS. After 2000 miles performance has been great. Mileage around 26 combined. Only two minor repairs -dealer forgot to put on antenna and a cap on the windshield wiper nut fell off. Dealer fixed both -no questions. No issues in interior.

I have not taken my Equinox on any long trips, but I really like the driving feel and the comfort of the seats and interior. This vehicle seems to fit me like a nice glove. I have the four cylinder and drive it in Eco mode all the time and it has plenty of power to satisfy me. The only dislike for me is the tilt steering. I am continually trying to lower the steering when I get into the vehicle when it is already at the lowest setting available. I'm thinking about seeing if I can modify the steering so I can lower it more. I really like the Nav and infotainment system. It's a costly option, but I think it is worth the cost. I previously owned a 2009 Malibu, but like this one better.

My wife wanted a sport utility so she could set up and see better. We owned a 2007 equinox, and I hated it. The 2010 is a 100% improvement. I wish it had more power, but the 4 cy does quite well. We have made 31.5 mpg one time, but at 65mph it normally gets 28- 30 mpg. Interstate driving at 78 mph gets 25 mpg. It is a nice vehicle for the price. It does not get around to good for a FWD in snow and ice.

We looked at a Ford Escape as well as a few Asian brands, but this small SUV really showed up well in quality, appearance, and fuel efficiency. I feel that the 2010 model is a vast improvement over the 2009 model. I especially liked the handling, or "fun- to-drive" feeling that this SUV provides. And we had 4 adults and 2 end tables in the vehicle after a little vacation shopping and everything fit comfortably - lots of interior space. The 4 cyl engine isn't super strong, but does fine under most uses, and we are getting over 30 mpg anytime we are going over 45 miles an hour. Don't write this off just because it is a Chevy!

Had to order the car; finally arrived after 8 weeks. The wait was worth it. The 4 cyl. has more then enough pep; no problems with merging into hi-speed traffic. Comfortable front seats; all controls are easy enough to reach; great sound system. The LTZ model has all I wanted in the basic pkg except for the Navigation system which I got. Luv it! Great ride although I've only got 600 miles on it and have yet to take a "trip" in it.

To start off my family is an American car family. A family member works for GM, and we drive majoritively that. My wife and I nearly bought a Saturn Vue when they introduced their new body style, but I am thrilled that we held out. We knew since mid 2009, once the 2010 Equinox was released, that it was what we wanted. We searched forever and finally in Feb 2010 we found the perfect one. We got the 4cyl 182hp FWD LT2, classed up to basically an LTZ. Black with chrome package. My wife and I are in love with this car.I'm 6'5'' and there is more room than any other car i've owned. No problems at all at 1200 miles. if you are considering to buy, you will not be disappointed.

After a summer of searching, I'm glad I waited for the 2010 Nox. At 6'7" I couldn't squeeze into the Rav, CRV, Santa Fe..... It came down to VW Tigan vs. NEW Equinox. Chevy won hands down based on expanded cabin size vs. '09, MPG and overall value. It fits in my garage better than my old four door sedan too....an added bonus! Don't expect much off sticker or incents given on other Chevys. But grab one quick before they figure out they put too much into the 2010 for the money. This one competes with SUVs in a larger class.

This is a great family SUV. Very attractive outside, elegant, very quiet (Active noise canceling) & spacious inside(biggest rear leg room), more than adequate power. Fuel economy is better than Toyota Camry !! Bluetooth, hands free steering mounted controls, voice recognition, iPod connectivity, auto-on lights, rearview camera are just a few to mention the conveniences. Standard maximum air bags, Traction control, OnStar service are outstanding for the price the car sells for.

I have 7000 miles on my car. There is a noise coming from the transmission when it shifts from 1-2nd, only does this after the car has sat for about an hour or more. I have taken this to the dealership, let it sit for about an hour, tech said he THOUGHT he heard something, checked it out in the shop, said it was ok. I don't think so. I will go to another dealer. Also FYI there are already two recalls on this model. Over all I really like my car, fun to drive and I like all the features it has. The one thing I miss is a button to activate the garage door opener.

We started this journey of searching for a new car last year. Dealer after dealer car after car. I even considered buying foreign for the first time in my life. However my wife loved her Aztek and wanted something that would compare to size comfort and cargo space with all the bells and whistles. We drove Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Buick, and then one last chance for GM we went to John Miles Chevrolet. They were so laid back they let the car sell itself. We saw the Equinox 2010 sitting in front of the showroom. We drove it and the rest is history.

Love this car, bought it in Henderson Nevada and promptly drove it to Salt Lake City 425 miles and averaged 18 mpg. I was told that we were going to get a hell of a lot better mileage than that. Anybody have any suggestions? If not I believe I am going to opt for the 60 day return policy. I bought this car looking for good fuel economy as far as that goes I am very disappointed!!!

I waited until the newness wore off to write a review. First the performance of the 2.4 is a pleasant surprise. After driving V8's for years, I was apprehensive. I just returned from a 3547 mi. trip to Az. and back to Wa. Highway speeds from 60 to 75 were maintained and at elevations from sea level to 7000 ft. Mileage for the trip was 26 mpg actual, about 1.2 mpg below indicated. I have no question that the 29 mpg could be achieved (or exceeded) at 65 mph max. and no mountain driving. I don't have that discipline. The Equinox is extremely quiet at highway speeds. On rubberized asphalt there is no road noise either. Seating is very comfortable (my bad back is appreciative). Good Ride!

This is the best "Small" SUV on the road. Forget the RAV 4 (dated), CR-V (unsightly), Ford Explorer (even more dated). Best value for the $. Engine/transition are excellent. Seats are very comfortable. Excellent technology included. Interior fit and finish is excellent and features quality material. I am fully impressed. There is a reason GM can't keep these in stock and is adding capacity to keep up with demand. Also can't believe editors rated only 7.5- did they rate the 2009 Equinox instead?

Picked up the car on 3/17. Have over 600 miles on it. Getting over 28mpg. Great looks interior and exterior. XM and Onstar are great features. Second row seats move for more storage. For a SUV with 4 cylinders, this car has great get up and go! Very quiet and smooth ride. Front bucket seats are very comfortable.

Had a Mazda 6 and was looking for a larger safer car for our 1 year old. The plan was to look at the usual suspects RAV4, CRV, Forrester, Escape, Santa Fe. Then I stumbled on some information about the new Equinox (did not know there was an old one) on Edmunds and started to look for any info I could find. I didn't know it but I was already sold. We never looked at the other cars. The LS has great options, but I felt the LT1 upholstery made a significant change in appearance. The exterior has the attitude that I missed since selling my Grand Prix GTP. The Mazda was reliable and nice, but didn't have that American feel that I missed. Need "LTZ" trim for Fog lights!? Empty fog cover = lame

We ordered our Gold Mist, Titanium interior 1LT with rear camera & vehicle interface packages 2 months before our long drive and we just missed by 1 day having it delivered in time. We took our 2005 Nissan Murano instead which is quite similar to the our new Equinox. I was delighted to average 35.8 MPG on my first 15 mile expressway trip. I have been spoiled by the Murano's Continuously Variable Transmission as the Equinox does have minor shifting lurches. The Interior is what sold me as the instrumentation is very well- laid out with great conveniences, storage, displays & comfort. Dealer gave us a free loaner for a month and many free services but no break on price other than $1500 rebate.

We have a loaded LT1 with the 6cyl engine and love it. Wanted AWD (snow), good mpg, room for cargo and for a baby seat. Drove Hyundais, Subarus & the 4cyl 'Nox to compare. We live in CO and the 4cyl just didn't have the guts at 6k feet. Maybe at sea level but not here. Closest rival was the new Outback (very close call). After 5 mos, hwy mpg runs mid/hi 20's at 70 mph and avg 21 mpg overall. Very smooth ride at all speeds, nimble and surprisingly quiet (except when sunroof is open). Great traction in light snow/slush/rain - no blizzards yet! Excellent value for the money.

Most fill ups are 22mpg 75% hwy 25% city the very best on flat ground with tail wind is 29mpg. If it got what onboard calculator said it would great but it reads 2 to 4 higher than actual. I like it better than a lexus RX 10.

This is the first time I have purchased a Chevy. If you remove the logos from this car you would swear you were in a Lexus or BMW. The ride is solid and very quiet. The car has a well designed interior with attention to detail. It is a pleasure to drive. I got an LTZ with the NAV feature and I am impressed. The NAV is feature rich and on par with the best systems being deployed today. Great leg room for both front and back passengers. Overall I am very pleased with the features and performance of this car.

The LS model is one that does not have a lot of zip but that is not what I bought it for. It has sufficient power, good MPGs, and very well equipped for the money. Seats are comfortable, rides very quiet and fit and finish appear to be topnotch. I have been getting 25mpg in combined city/highway driving. Only had it for a few weeks, but it is growing on me more and more. Visibility in the back could be better. So far no buyer's remorse.

If you are thinking about buying this car, don't. 32,700 miles I bought this used. Worst mistake of my life buying this car. I wish I could trade it for another. Not happy at all. The dash board vibrates and rattles. I have had this in for repair at the Chevy dealer since I first bought this car. I had a 1960 Chevy Impala and a 1976 Chevy Special and was happy with them for many years. Buyer beware...do not buy 2010 Chevrolet Equinox or you will be sorry. I wish I had read these reviews before I purchased this horrible car. You feel cheap in this car. You hear the road noise...horrible. Buying this car makes me feel like a complete idiot.

This vehicle is great compared to Escape, CRV, and RAV4 (style, comfort, and features. I traded my 97 Merc Mountaineer AWD (14 mpg). Never heard of Equinox until I started shopping around and researching to take advantage of the CARS program. I was very impressed the first time I test drove it. Stopping myself from purchasing the first one I test drove, I tried the 3 others mentioned above. I kept coming back to Equinox. Ideally, I wanted LT2 with 4 cyl but could only find LT2 with V6. I chose 4 cyl to take advantage of the mileage (to save almost $2K in fuel/year from my Moutaineer) so I had to settle with a sharp looking gray LT1 with black and silver interior.

I did alot of research on SUVs for this size and price range. The 2010 Equinox, in my estimate stood at the head of the class. I have owned it for one and half months now, and I really, really like it. I finally got it out on the open road this past weekend and was amazed at the gas mileage I got, and the beautiful, and fun ride. I would recommend that anyone looking at this size or even the next size up to consider this vehicle if you are truly looking for the very best bang for you buck. I highly recommend the back up camera for safety reasons to all who purchase this vehicle which I did get. I also got the 8 way driver power seat and the communication package.

Made three trips to 2 dealers before purchasing my vehicle. Waited 10 weeks and picked it up the 1st week of January, 2010.(Present mileage-4,800) Forget any preconceived notions about this vehicle that you might have. Quite simply,it lives up to and beyond my expectations. The On-Star turn by turn nav is amazing and makes me wonder why anyone would spend $2K on the built-in nav. The blu-tooth feature is exceptional in sound quality and ease of use. The seats are way beyond the comfort of my previous Honda's. Styling, handling and engine performance are first rate. Mileage is avg, about 23 in mixed urban driving. Car is both quiet and smooth on the road. GM sent this one out of the park.

Highway gas mileage is 34 mpg in eco mode, Over all 26 mpg. Handling is great at all speeds. Comfort on the road is outstanding. Power of 4cyl is fine, much more power then I first thought. Seats are very comfortable, the ride is a little stiff but holds the road sound. I am very pleased and have not found any problems in the first 3000 miles. After 2,500 miles in my Equinox, the only problem to speak of is that I have to really slam the rear hatch or I get a "rear access open" light on the dashboard. I'm averaging 26.7 mpg -- not as much as I hoped, but good. Wish I would have gotten the rearview camera, because backing up can be an adventure. Overall, this car is a great value for the money.

Did a lot of research on crossovers before deciding on the Equinox. Love the ride, features, love the comfort, the room is sufficient for my family of 5 (that includes my dog). Great car and great value. Looks really good, too. I really love it. I've had it for about a month and it has 2K miles on it so far. In eco mode on the highway, I see the gas mileage really work in my favor. Helps that I can see how many miles I have left before I run out of gas! No more minivan for me.

G.M. is finally coming back to what I remember as a fine automobiles in the 50's and early 60's. I've owned what some consider as the best, Lexus LS, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Jag XJ 6, and I wouldn't trade this 2010 Equinox for any of them. This little 4Cy is smooth, peppy and very, very quiet. Exterior and interior show quality workmanship far superior to anything in this class and price. My wife prefers this to her Buick Lucerne, which I think is also a nice vehicle. The Nox has beautiful lines and I get compliments all the time from both men and women. This car proves that Americans can still design and build a quality car that most can afford and will enjoy driving!

I had my eye on this for a few month but wanted to test drive some other crossovers. Drove the Ford Escape, Jeep Liberty, and the GMC Terrain. I drove the FWD and the AWD. It finally came down to the AWD in Black. It looks just as good as any other high dollar crossover and drives just as well too. It has the best look interior out of all the others too. Very quiet ride inside too.

We purchased the car in late February after waiting 8 weeks for delivery. We were nervous about a GM purchase, but this vehicle is all we had hoped for after 2 months of ownership. We love the style and its drivability. Interior is of great feel and appearance. We love the center console and it is in easy reach of the driver. The navigation system is amazing, we find the seating very comfortable and roomy. We admit we hope the mileage will improve but we have done little freeway driving at this point. The Equinox handled our spring Colorado snows storms with no issues. The quality of the sound system is impressive and easy to use. Congratulations Chevy you got the Equinox right.

Recent purchase and no regrets. Lots of leg room for tall drivers, center console is low, did not dig into my leg like ravr4 and crv. Leather interior well crafted with tasteful trim stitching and seats are fabulous design. 4cyl has impressive pull for a car this size. Took it on an 800mile ride, all types of roads...flawless! Wish it had GPS but my Garmin does the trick. Panasonic sound with XM is awesome. Got 30mpg even with AWD and still improving with break in. GM did it right this time!

Love the cockpit feel while driving this car. Also the blue tooth is awesome. I am getting used to all the new buttons but very similar to my Acadia just smaller but drives and rides like a dream. Excellent service from my dealer and priced very well. Who could ask for more? Way to go Chevy :)

I traded in my 09 Civic, for my 2010 Equinox, I love it. I was concern with the Gas Milege, cause the Civic was awsome, however its all on how you drive, i keep my Equinox in Eco Mode the entire time, i drive at 60-70 MPH, use the cruise control everytime i can, and I get 27- 29 miles per gallon in the city, i took it in a trip, and I got exactly 32 Miles per gallon in hwy. Before I bought it, I looked at Honda CRV, Toyota RAV 4, Hundai Tucson. The Equinox smokes them all no comparison, the Equinox is way superior than all of them. In my opinion the best in it's class.

I was skeptical too. GM? Equinox? But shopping for a mini SUV I thought it worth a look. Long story short, I bought. The LTZ I bought is loaded with everything you can imagine - certainly beats features of CRV EXLnavi and RAV4. This thing is really refined. Don't look for power, just quite. BTW this is a BIG vehicle to get 22mpg around town over the last few days. Two tone leather interior is huge - back seat is like a limo. cargo area a bit narrower than competition but plenty big. Ride is hushed and refined - very solid. details will wow you at reasonable pricing. get invoice deal very easily, also currently $1,000 rebates if you own (not trade) a non-gm car.

So far it's been my wife's car, and has seen virtually no long highway drives, but the average mileage being displayed is 16.8mpg. I feel sick. I fully expected 20+ in town, and 25+ for the type of driving she does. Seemed like a great car, and is very nice, but I bought it for fuel economy and I feel cheated.

I've only driven my Equinox under 300 miles. I like the way the automobile handles and the comfort of the interior. I worry about future rust and corrosion of the vehicle (see suggested improvement section).

At test drive the Chevy Equinox drove, handled great. After purchasing the 2010 Chevy Equinox, and driving it for a month, I started hearing this motor noise (which sounded like a lifter inside motor). Took into dealership we purchased our Equinox from, explained to the service attendant. Service writer wrote up a ticket for the problem. After checking out our Equinox, service attendant called and said our Equinox was ready. When asking the service attendant about the noise he told us that it was just what that engine does. We have taken our Equinox in 2 other times and noting can be done about it. Now the noise seems to be getting worse. Engine is really noisy.

I just got my Equinox this Tuesday. I used it for a 170 mile round trip to watch my Hokies play spring football. The car did great. Gas mileage was about 29 mpg for the total trip (including gameday traffic). The ride and comfort was incredible. I traveled on an interstate and the 4 cyl did fine. I hope the reliability is as good as my first impression of this vehicle. I would strongly recommend folks looking at this choice in the small SUV class. I thoroughly enjoy the Pioneer sound system and the options it affords the listener.

I have owned my Equinox for just over a month and I absolutely love it. I test drove a Ford Escape, Honda CRV, Toyota Rav and the Equinox (in my opinion) was far superior for comfort, style, etc. I have a bad back and the lumbar seats are just wonderful. Also the back seats are roomy, and much more comfortable than the foreign models. My husband was prepared not to like this vehicle (Ford person) and he loves it as much as I do. From the outside it doesn't seem that big, but I am amazed at how much room is inside, and if you fold the seats down, you can haul a lot of cargo. It is amazing to me that a vehicle this size can get such good mileage (the 4 cylinder model).

Had to order the vehicle to get the options and color we wanted but well worth the wait. Took our first road trip within two days of delivery - Jacksonville,FL to Chattanooga, TN yielded 26.6 MPG in regular mode. Return trip in ECO got us 28.5 mpg. Mostly Interstate highway at 70-75 MPH. No problem with acceleration or power in ECO mode on the interstate. Not bad out of the gate. This vehicle is a winner. Glad GM got it right. Comfortable ride, pleasure to drive. Not as quite of a ride as we remember from our test drive, but all in all a great SUV.
