At 6'7" I need some leg room. I was looking at Toyota Highlanders because the Rav4 did not have enough leg room and I was sick of Chevy's (having had multiple problems with my Blazer) My father in-law bought one of these and raved about it so I stopped at a dealer and tried it out. Does not feel like a Chevy and for the price I got the all wheel drive which I could not afford on the Highlander. So far so good, no complaints.

I purchased my 2010 Equinox 2 weeks ago and so far it has been a great experience. I love the comfort level inside, the exterior design (well the front end is kind of big), gas mileage, and creature comforts offered in the cabin.

Nice Highway Vehicle

The Nox is an excellent highway vehicle. Smooth yet taut ride, handles well for a crossover. I'm saving 30% on gas vs my old Mitsubishi Endeavor. However, big blind spots and tiny mirrors really limit side and rear vision. I've heard concerns about the power of the 4 cyl engine, but I've found it to be adequate. The 6 speed transmission works well to keep the engine in its power band, but it does take a while to get used to 6500 RPM shifts when you have your foot in it. For my shape, the drivers seat is just average for comfort (I prefer a flat seat over the heavily bolstered ones in the Nox). But I really like the rest of the interior (I'm a fan of the blue interior lighting)

We looked at a Ford Escape as well as a few Asian brands, but this small SUV really showed up well in quality, appearance, and fuel efficiency. I feel that the 2010 model is a vast improvement over the 2009 model. I especially liked the handling, or "fun- to-drive" feeling that this SUV provides. And we had 4 adults and 2 end tables in the vehicle after a little vacation shopping and everything fit comfortably - lots of interior space. The 4 cyl engine isn't super strong, but does fine under most uses, and we are getting over 30 mpg anytime we are going over 45 miles an hour. Don't write this off just because it is a Chevy!
