1999 FRC Review
I just bought this car used but in immaculate condition. I have all the records for everything that has been done to the car, and it has had its share of electrical problems, such as the fuel gauge, stereo, and power window motors. However, just sitting in the car and firing it up puts a smile on my face. The performance is amazing and the ride comfort is surprisingly good. Driving the car from Texas to VA, I averaged well over 30 mpg. There is also ample storage in the back for pretty much anything you need to carry such as luggage or groceries. In my opinion, the C5 Corvette is by far the best bang for the buck vehicle out there. My only regret is that I didn't buy one sooner.
Can't Drive My Shelby Anymore
I've owned a Shelby GT500 for 30 years, but it finally got too valuable to drive. Enter the 1999 C5. It's a terrific, high smiles per dollar car. Faster than the old GT500, and nearly as quick, but with many more creature comforts. It won't replace the Shelby in my garage, but is a terrific daily- driver and is here to stay. I like the black on black, no frills approach. One of my friends said it looks more like a weapon than a luxo- cruiser. I'm 6'5", and it fits well.

A True Sports Car
Since this is the hardtop version, it comes equipped with the 6-speed manual and 'sport' suspension. The ride is very stiff and you feel every bump but it also corners like it is on rails. This is a sports car and it drives like one. There really is no other vehicle in the world that can compare to the Corvette. There are only a handful of better handling or faster cars and all of them cost at least twice as much. I do not recommend the hardtop as a daily or city driver. I highly recommend it for use as a SPORTS car.
awesome
i am 68(16 may03) its a real 1st class GT love the 6 speed trans. great mpg==yuma, az to flint, michigan 30low 34 high fun to drive--15-18 hours per day goes up the az mountains at 78 and down at 78 --with cruise set at 78--rarely lose or gain 1 mph==thats at over 9000feet!!!
AWESOME, WHY BUY ANYTHING ELSE
Wow, what beauty and power, American muscle refined. Step on it and you know what I mean. Everyone looks at this baby. The best buy. I like Porsches and Bimmers in my rear view. Love it.
Best Roadster in America
I had one of the very first C-5's in Hawaii I bought in late 97. Would'nt "kick in" when punched. Dealers couldn't figure out problem. So, ordered a 99 6 speed convertible, with Z51 suspension. Took a few months to arrive in Hawaii. At first I thought it was the wrong color. The way the sun hit it, an almost purple pearl came thru the Navy Blue Mettalic paint. It was beautiful. What was Chevy thinking when they discontinued that color. Now have 14k miles. No major problems. Then got the "check traction control" message, with rough running. Computer module fried. Strongly advise getting extended warranty. Otherwise, the best vette ever.
Love my Vette
Flashy,. Easy to drive. Handles well and can get you speeding tickets on roads that are quite serpentine.

Lil Red Corvette
I've owned many Vettes through-out the years, starting with a '54 when I was a kid. Although it's not a loaded '67, I love my '99! It's got all the "Bells & Whistles", handles and performs great AND I don't have a $100k invested in it!!
My fifth Corvette and my favorite
I’ve owned 5 Corvettes over the past 50 years and while my 99 convertible is not worth In money what my previous 4 are (66,69,70 and 72) it is the best driving of all them. Fuel injection all aluminum LS1, all the creature comforts you could ask for.
Little Red Corvette
Awesome fixed roof coupe I bought. Don't care about current value, bc I ain't never selling her.
Beautiful candy apple red Corvette
This Corvette is in almost show quality. Has a cow hood all new top end on the motor long tube headers 3 in full Flow catalytic converters. No cracks in the dash, everything works as it should except the air conditioner.

Owning Italian and British performance cars in the 80's and 90's. I converted to my absolute favorite - the Corvette. My C5 roadster is MY BABY. I confess that it shares the garage with the old Maserati rag top I decided to keep - the Corvette is my favorite. Nothing like a top down drive on the California coast.
