I bought mine for 550 dollars, and almost 2 years later, I still own it. New radiator (ran all winter with no antifreeze!), new serp. Belt, oil changes and spark plugs, bulb replacements, and a new hood, all under 150 dollars! This car should still be in production. No Major problems, I recommend this car to anyone, doesn't matter if your rich or poor! Outstanding reliability! Man I wish I could have had this car sooner! Good performance! Smoked a 2008 Hyundai sonata! And an acura tsx! And any old Taurus or sable! Ha! And my car was practically free! In the process of tuning it up to beat a mustang hopefully, or to come close! Awesome car!

Only minor problems over the years except evaporator core in air conditioner had to be replaced while under extended warranty in about '97. Air went out again in '02 and will need condenser. Also lots of problems when first got by trying to use ash tray/cup holder as cup-holder. Always messing up gear shift indicator. Finaly quit using it after taking back to dealer several times while uder warranty.

This is my first car. I have put about 4,000 miles on it. The 4 Cylinder 2.0 is just fine for a first car. This car is VERY strong. I have driven it VERY hard in the last year or so, and the only problems I've had were minior like a main brake line, $20. And the AC radiator thing gets plugged so you have to clean it to get the air moving again. The style is a little too old for me. Paint peels bad, but no rust. Seems to have a lot of rattles everywhere. For the price and considering that it is an older car, it runs great. No engine problems whatsoever.

This was my 1st car, I bought it in 2003 with 119,000 miles and owned it for 2 years. Never had any serious problems. Had some leaks. Fixed the fuel pump and thermostat and a battery, also had to get new breaks all of which weren't too expensive. The car was always reliable and started even in the coldest weather. The 3.1 V6 provides enough HP for passing and what not. Could still drive the car over 100mph with no problem when I sold it. I also thought the sound system was pretty nice, until the speakers started to go a few months before I sold it.

My 4 cyl. Chevy Corsica, which happens to be my first car has been a great one for the money. I bought it with 100,000 miles and now have close to 150,000 miles. Given the age and the mileage, reliability has been above average. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone, if fuel economy is a major concern for you, then go with the 2.2 4 cyl model, otherwise get the 3.1 V6, it has much better get-up-and-go than the 4 cyl. "Two thumbs up!"

When this car died on me there were over 226,000 miles on it. Throughout its life-span I had to get a new engine put into it. The car did not brake well at all (very common for Corsicas). The paint faded, and there were other several major and/or minor repairs that I had to get on the car to make it last as long as it did. Except on the interstate, it had a comfortable drive. The interior is bland, and the exterior is even more bland. The radio did not have back speakers (don't understand the logic to that) and, therefore, did not have any bass to it. It's a good car for the average college student, but if you're gonna use it for business I would suggest you don't.

A great car for just getting around...not fancy, but quite reliable. Bullet-proof engine (3.1l) requires minimal maintenace and has great highway power. With some prevention, the body has lasted without any rust.

Could this be the perfect car? i saw my vehicle in a friends front yard for 550 dollars, with 98000 miles on it. now it has 203000 miles. what went wrong during my year and a half of ownership? nothing really! the only repairs ive had to make was spark plugs (looked like they were never changed!),a new radiator(i drove it too hard one night), and a new water pump and belt. and these repairs were far and few in between. i even drove this car in the cold winter of 2008 WITH NO ANTIFREEZE and it started and ran EVERY TIME!!! chevy should design all of their cars like this one. and the water pump didn't crap out until 150000 miles AFTER i got the car. that is damn good considering the age.

The price was right for the year and everyone has told me what a good car the Corsica is. I needed a good car to get back and forth to work with as my car was in a reck (not my fault) So this may not be my last chev Corsica I've only has it one day and I like it so far.

Put 700.00 dollars into it over the paqst few months, it needed a new alternator, and gaskets. Since we fixed those glitches, it runs great. It needs new tires, and has a crack in the windshield, the interior is okay besides the ceiling has a few minor tears.

I got this car a couple years ago from an old lady, and at the time it had very low milage. The car has remained reliable since then which the only major problem being an alternator replacement. It's a good car for getting from point A to point B, but not much else. The front seats are decently comfortable, but for two adults, the rear seats are a tight fit. Controls are clear and easy to read, but the plastic materials that make up the interior are somewhat drab.

I bought this car my senior year of high school. The next five years that I owned this car I had to put vary minimal amounts of money into the maintenance of this car. Major repairs included a new alternator and distributer coils (or something close to that). I recently bought a new honda accord and I am happy to say I actually do miss my corisca. I am happy with my honda but my corsica drove very similar to my honda.

I bought this car from an elderly lady during college with 30,000 miles. Needless to say, it lasted through college and 5 years later @ 140,000 miles, it's still going strong. GREAT ENGINE, bad exterior paint problems. It's Lt. Blue paint color chips like crazy, but the engine more than made up for it. Great Reliability!

I'm the only owner of my '91 Corsica, which now has 137,000 miles on it. Over the years, I have replaced the alternator twice, the starter, the water pump, and a gasket...not bad for a 13-year old car. The paint is my only complaint, which is peeling off the roof, hood, and trunk panels. The side panels still look like brand new. The fabric on the seat cushions and driver-side door interior has begun to show its age and have small tears. I attribute this to sun damage and wear and tear. A few patches hear and there have fixed the problem, as well as some seat covers. The A/C is a bit weak for the Texas climate.

my corsica just hit 204,000 miles, I have beet this car hard over ther years but kept the fluids changed and filters were replaced 2 or 3 times. this car still runs like new but as others have said the paint has peeled off hood and roof, But no rust. if I could get my hands on another one with 150,000 or less I would jump at the chance

I purchased it used (a rental car) at only a year old and have had it 14 years. I maintained it well and have found it to be very reliable. Aside from the usuals things (battery, muffler, belts) the only stuff I have had to replace are the alternator, valve cover gasket and brakes. While the A/C still works, the bearings must going (noise) and HVAC controls are not working properly. The paint is not bad, but a problem for these cars. For a 15 year old car though, the reliability is great. The 4 cylinder engine is anemic, but but suits me fine, and the fuel economy is poor is town (20 mpg), but great on the highway (35 mpg).

I bought my corsica used in 1992. My mechanic has put on new oil seal, maniforld gasket, rear brake cylindar, new water pump, and a few minor things. I have had this car maintenanced on a regular basis oil, coolant, plugs etc. It has been a good car. But it is old and I just bought a new minivan. If you need a good used car try this one. I think I will sell mine out right because I did not trade it in.

I have only owned this vehicle 3 months, but I can say it's a very reliable, durable vehicle. The only problem I had was a new starter and a lower radiator hose and heater hose. It always starts right up every time and has plenty of power, with only 138,000 miles! I did experience one strange problem. Every time it rained, the car would never start! I had a new starter installed, but it hasn't rained for over 4 weeks! Other than that, overall a good car.

The only major problem I've had with my Corsica is new radiator hoses and a new radiator itself. I need the new radiator- has very minor leak. Sealed right up with radiator stop leak. Nothing else except routine maintenance like oil changes, new ignition wires, battery. This car runs so smooth and is very, very reliable. Starts up every time the key is turned. Quiet ride, too. Might need new motor or transmission mounts. (Cheap). Comfy seating is perfect for my bad lower back! Will drive and keep it until it dies! Hopefully, that will be a long time away with only 139K miles on it!! Love it! I'd recommend this car for anyone looking for a cheap, reliable car.

I got this car from my grandma. It gets me where i'm going but lately we've been having problems. My bright lights won't work I have to get the wireing fixed, plus I have 2 kids and there's no room for anything else. plus my air conditioning doesn't work

I've owned this car for over a year and it's been very reliable and the engine and transmission are holding up well for a 16 year old car! Only major problem I had was a coolant problem (leaking) but 2 new hoses fixed that. It does need a new radiator, but my mechanic put some raqdiator stop leak on and it's lasted almost a year!! Will have to eventually replace. Replaced stareter yesterday. No serious problems at all. I love the smooth ride and comfort of this car. This car will go across country and back with no breakdowns! I'll own this until the wheels fall off! Will buy another one for a second car when and if mine dies.

I've had this car a little over a year and the only major problem I had was the cooling system. Only 2 radiator hoses were needed and that fixed the problem. I've been having a lot of trouble with the starter. Brought it to my mechanic after I had a fresh oil and filter change and when I hot the car to him, the starter was fine! Funny how after I replaced my air filter and the oil was changed, the starter problem actually cured itself! He said if it acts up again, he'll install a rebuilt one at no charge to me! The key turns every time and this I will never understand! Let's see how long until the problem occurs again!! It's a pleasure driving this car and the ride is very smooth.

I've owned this great car almost a year and a half now (November this year) and the only major problem was a leaking waterpump and a bad starter. That's it! Other than routine maintenance such as hoses, belts, brakes, tires, etc., as long as you keep up with things, no problems should occur. I've been very lucky. This car has been exceptional. The gas mileage is excellent, the plush, comfy seats are wonderful for my low back pain and sciatica! The Goodyear tires will last a very long time, but I do need a tire rotation- fronts to back, backs in front. I highly recommend this great, reputable, strong-running car to anyone looking for inexpensive transportation who is on a budget.

I've owned my Chevy for almost a year and a half and have had no major problems. The only issue I really had was replacement of water pump and starter. They were a little expensive to replace-but worth it. I keep my oil and filter changed every 3 mos/3,000 miles and besides new front brakes, that's really all it needs. Just keep up with the regular routine maintenance (belts, hoses, tires and brakes) and it'll run forever! I've replaced battery, waterpump, starter, serpentine belt and a rear wheel cylinder. I couldn't be happier with my car. Gas mileage is excellent around town and on the highway. For a 4 cylinder (2.2), it's got plenty of power! I highly recommend this car!!

I've owned my Corsica for 16 months and am very happy with this car. Don't neglect the routine maintenance, (belts, hoses, brakes, tires and battery) and always keep your oil and filter changed at the right intervals and it should provide years of reliablity. Keep all other fluids at proper levels, too. Other than a waterpump and starter (those were a little expensive to replace) failing, no major problems. Things I've replaced: serpentine belt, battery, 1 heater hose, 1 lower radiator hose, fresh oil and filter changes, of course. I plan on replacing the spark plug wires- slight stumble accelerating. That'll fix it for sure. This is a great run-around car for shopping and chores.

I can't say enough about this car. I bought it from a co-worker on whim for $300 because it needed a fuel pump. Shortly after we bought it we had to put in a water pump and an alternator. I was beginning to wonder what I was beginning to get into. That was six years and 50,000 miles ago and the car hasn't cost me a dime other than regular maintenance since! The V-6 has lots of power. The seats are comfortable and the driver's seat is roomy for my 6'4" frame. The A/C is cold and the heater is hot. The trunk is huge. I am a Realtor and I drive this car every day. I can fit my big signs in the trunk. The car always starts. I get 21 MPG in town and 29 on the highway at 75 MPH.

Well I purchased this car at a car lot in Arkansas for $300. He told me it didn't have reverse and it ran a little hot. Any way this car had lots of power and ran good. I never could figure out why it ran hot. I changed everything that would make it run hot. I figure it was a seeping head gasket. But this car got so hot (that the needle was past the H facing straight down) so many times, and it would start everytime. But you could tell a difference in the power it would lose each time it would run hot though. All in all I would most definitely get another one.

I've had my v-6 corsica for 6 years now, and it has treated me very well. I purchased it when it was 4 years old with only 26,000 miles on it. Interior is good. Car leans a bit too much during turns. Since the 6 years, I've had to replace the rotors and brake pads, which cost me $800. The only other major work is the radiator because of a leak. The model has major paint chipping problems. Especially white and blue ones. It's too bad because the inside of my car is clean and almost still like new even after 10 years! HOwever, still no major rust problems. The back is a little small. Leg room is limited.

i bought it new in 1992. and accept for some brake replacements every couple of years it has been good to me. it is just as fast as other more pricey cars but has alot more room for the kids. the only other problem i had was i had to replace the sol. on the torque convertor at about 80000 miles. that was an pain because every garage i went to thought it was the torque convertor was going out. .

Since the above consumers say they were satisfied with the car, why would they not provide a better rating of the vehicle? I bought mine in '97 with 152,000 km for CAD$ 5,900. It was an awesome deal. It now has almost 300,000 km and it goes good. There is hardly any spot of rust. I have done the rustproof every year and have kept it outside for the last three years. After I reach the 300,000 km I might get a Sunfire. Although I am European I like the lightness of American domestic vehicles - actually European GM has its equivalents too (Opel etc). You feel 'light' with such cars - as opposed to a MB or a BMW, don't you? ;-)

I've had this car for 3 years and have put 52000 miles on it.for a total of 136000. I mostly only had minor issues with it as you would expect with an older USED car. after 100,000 miles it started having little weird problems like the ABS light would come on for no reason, the brakes needed replaced, the cruise control stopped working but over all worth the $.

Bought car for $300 with 240,000 km's on a 2.2. Have changed coil pack (real pain), transmission (more real pain), water pump (another pain) and other little things. Idle is erratic. Motor is unbelievable - neither uses oil nor leaks oil. When I check the oil it is cleaner than the oil in my wife's 2001 Focus! It's totally gutless around town unless you put your foot to the floor but seems to morph into another car on the highway - it'll do 85 without trying. I'm not really complaining because we have 'air care' (smog test) here and that inflates the price of any used car that passes and I was expecting to have to fix it up ua bit.
