Good looking truck, but lots of problems
I purchased my colorado in Sept 2006. I have had nothing but problems. First there was a recall for a brake light switch, then at 47000 miles I had to replace the camshaft actuator ($98). Then at 59000 miles I had to replace the vent valve and ignition switch, that was another $458. I just took it back to GM because of rough idle and found out the cylinder head needs replaced (62000 miles). The mechanic told me GM will cover the cost, which will be close to $3000.00. GM will not recall the trucks for this problem, they will only fix it IF you have the problem and it happens before 100,000 miles. Needless to say this truck has been trouble since day 1.
2006 Chevy Colorado
I owned the truck since May of 07, it has 9000 miles on it and it's been in the shop 3 times all fuel related. Had to run premium in it so it wouldn't spark knock under load. I also had valve clatter on cold start up lasted 10 sec. The first time I took the truck in when the engine light came on they said I wasn't running the right fuel. It seems the truck has to run on top tier fuel from kwicktrip so I started running top tier in the engine. Had trouble again took it back to the dealer they said the have to replace the cylinder head because the valves were bad. The idle also sticks around 2800 rpm once and a while. I'm getting rid of the truck in 2008 wouldnt buy one again.

Love this truck
I've had my truck a little over a year now, and it is by far the most reliable and easiest to maintain car or truck I've owned. I have a regular cab xtreme zq8 model and I have had no issues what so ever and have only had to do rear drums and change the oil for maintenance. My only complaint is the 2.8 is a little slow while accelerating but once your at speed it's smooth and quiet. I average 32 mpg highway since I drove everyday and can get 450+ miles a tank. I would recommend a colorado to anyone.

Love my Colorado
fter 10,000 miles I performed a fuel economy test. I am getting 17.89 miles per gallon. I have installed a magnaflow exhaust system and am currently performing fuel mileage test after that. I am installing a AEM cold air intake system trying to get 20 to 21 mpg in the city. I love my truck and currently have 11,035 miles on it and no problems
Great Little Truck
This is my 4th small Chevy truck, and I think it's the best yet! It's got lots of interior room, and a good sized bed too. I was quite pleased that the base model comes with cruise control, tilt wheel, and a pretty good sounding AM/FM stereo. There is way too much noise from the A- pillars, window deflectors are needed! The base tires pick up every little pebble, then they "fly" when you end up on the freeway! warms up slow for a 4 cylinder.
