Used 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Consumer Reviews
Dont Buy This Car!
I've had 6 Chevrolets, including 2 trucks, 2 Tahoe's and 2 Camaro's. I owned the 2012 Camaro SS and didn't have any trouble with it at all. My 2016 is an entirely different matter. I've had serious problems with major systems. The car has been in the shop 6 times for different (and some same) issues for a total of 22 days, including warped brake rotors, broken exhaust bracket, infotainment system issues, rear axle issues (a metal shard fell out of the axle within 2k miles), "leather" seat issues (the driver seat is coming apart at the seam), the remote start only works about 1/2 the time. I truly want to love this car due to its look and engine performance - it's simply poorly constructed. I have GM looking into taking it back and, if they don't, I'll get an attorney involved for lemon laws.

A 'Race Horse' Car with Excellent Manners
The Camaro goes way beyond pony car - the 2SS package is a factory race car without a doubt! With Track and Competitive Driving Mode this truly is ready to hit the track, yet putt around town with the wife or take a cruise on the highway and one quickly notices this race car has some very fine manners indeed! The technology is astounding! Hop in and crank it up and your bluetooth automatically connects and starts playing music right where it left off. 6'7" guy sharing car with 5'2" wife? No worries! Camaro recognizes your key fob and the memory seats adjust right to where you want them! The instrument cluster is customizable on the fly and features some cool performance readings. The car drops in and out of V4 mode without notice - if you are not watching the indicator you never know it happens. Even with my wife's 3 mile drive to work it's pulling better MPG than the V6 mustang she had prior. The convertible top is convenient and quiet operating with only the press of a switch - no unhooking, snapping or zipping and you can even move the top while you're moving! The technology, performance, and comfort of this car are truly amazing!!! Now that we've had the Camaro for 6 months we have noticed a couple of things. On the downside, the front passenger seat does not recline enough for my wife to be comfortable taking a nap on a road trip. We have also discovered that the summer tires really are summer tires and not suitable AT ALL for snow and ice! This is a function of the tires and is to be expected. We have also found a couple of things when going thru the car wash - depressions in the body work under the trunk lid tend to collect soapy water. After the first maintenance I did pick up a little tire vibration at times yet I expect some of this from the low profile tires - overall the ride is still fantastic for a sports car or any car! Yet we see no leaks in the convertible top when going thru the car wash. The car has run a 50 mile average fuel economy of 31 mpg. And overall the car continues to impress as mentioned at the top of the article, we just seem to appreciate it more as time goes by!

The Good and the Bad
The car is fun to drive in spite of the problems. The differential was bad on all them from the factory. See here > https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=472935. The road noise is the worst of any vehicle I have ever driven. I doubt ANY sound deadening was installed at the factory. Probably carpet on bare metal. The stick is a night mare. 2nd gear sometimes is VERY difficult to find. The radio speakers suck. The car handling is scary in the rain. All over the road. The car is very pretty. I get lots of oooohs and ahhhhs from people that love it. Would I buy another one ? Probably not. But like I said it is fun to drive regardless. The interior plastic is soft and not durable. Scratches very easily. I beat most cars racing. Lost to one of the new Chargers. May have been my driving error.,

Stealthy and Sturdy
December 2018 - 2 years into ownership and the car with scheduled maintence performed (i.e. oil changes - tire rotations - fluids and check-ups by dealer) runs great. Everything is great except the following - The original runflat performance Goodyear tires were good to start and good handlers but wore down extremely quick and were magnets for nails etc. (i.e. they did poorly to deflect road debris and required several replacements) I have hazard warranty but kind of a pain. Anyway they balded quickly with proper rotations and were replaced after 15 months and had gashes and metal shard in them after removal. They were replaced with Michelin Pilots 4 SS which while not a run flat do not attract the road debris, perform excellent, and are wearing much more slowly after 9 months and protect the rims much better. Other is the aluminum wheel paint is pretty average in its durability when cleaning off the expected performance brake pad debris is loosing its sheen and in removing some caked on spots has proven that the paint does not adhere well to the primer. Other is on the steering wheel near the bottom the shiny black coating is blistering (another paint adhesion issue). The leather wrap around the top seat pull slightly moves away from under the escutcheon every few months and needs to be reset. November 2016 - The 2SS is a fantastic build. The automatic with the paddle shifters is awesome. I can drive in any traffic with one hand. And no worries with the 8 speed - it responds instantly to the throttle while my left leg and and an arm lounge in freedom. The leather seats, dash and door trims are very comfortable and adjustable. Front leg and shoulder room is great. the sun roof is perfect and allows the perfect amount of light and openness to the compartment even when closed. The back seat space increases the comfort, air and openness of the interior compartment space, has acoustic advantages, and creates the extra needed storage available from the interior of the vehicle. This car responds to all of my inputs whether that be to and fro. This one is built at the Cadillac factory and there is not a loose bone on it. Caution though - While this car is built extremely well for driving and cornering at a range of all speeds you might be tempted to anger authorities. So be careful when you use the *Launch Control*. Perhaps Cape Canaveral would be an appropriate location.

Best Purchase ever
I freaking love my vehicle ! If you stay in the Davenport,IA area please go see Valerie at Mills Chevrolet. She is awesome!! Pros about this vehicle is that it's great on gas.I purchased a 2.0L 4 cylinder with turbo and that baby still packs a lot of power behind it. The sound system is great quality and the touch screen makes it easier to control the entertainment in the vehicle. Cons are the seats are very uncomfortable and there's no CD player but overall a great car!
