Beware!
I am so disapointed in this little car, not only has been in the shop 3 times, in the last year from a fuel pump to the transmission, but what the heck is this the gear ratio will not allow the trans to shift from 2nd to 3rd if the temp is below 65 degrees!? So the trans revvs up to an unhealthy sound just to go down a 40mph street. I regret buying this car and I am now trying to get rid of it!!! They told me I would get almost 40mpg, ha! the most I have gotten is 34 and that is open freeway cruise set at 60mph. I will never buy anything from Chevy again, I'm going forgien!
Not a Putt Putt! Awesome Little Car!
This is a wonderful little car that GM/Chevy has come out with. We have the LT hatchback, with automatic transmission. It drives smooth and is quite peppy - you floor it and it takes off! I have driven 4 cylinders before that just won't MOVE when you put the pedal to the metal. Not this baby, she's not a putt-putt, she's world class for a subcompact! It's comfy and roomy - my 6'4" nephew fits beautifully in it! We traded a gas guzzling Ford F150 for it and have not regretted it! It SIPS gas, it will cost us ONE THIRD of what the Ford cost us weekly in gas! For the money this is one great little car! If you want a subcompact that's cheap in price but high in quality, buy an Aveo!
Awesome for the price
I like this little car. I've got rabbits, and if I go on trips with them the carriers fit well in the back seat without giving up too much front legroom. My wife is a bit heavy, and I can feel the handling difference when she's in the car, but it's not bad at all. Me and a buddy of mine run time trials through a little curvy section of road and it feels pretty tight at 45 and you never feel like you're going to roll. I could complain about the mileage, but I figure it's less to fill up than my co-workers that drive big trucks everyday so it's not bad. I drive a little rough on it but still get a decent 27-28 mpg.
Best buy for the price.
I'm not going to lie and say this car is perfect, it's not. For the money that you will be paying you do get a well built, logically laid out veh that will perform resonably well. Don't expect to be passing Corvettes in this thing, or Chevettes for that matter, but if you opt for a manual transmission you can compensate by downshifting which does sacrifice some of the gas mileage but makes passing less of a joke. In the hatchback model you do have a surprising amount of storage when the rear seats are folded down, but with the seats in the upright position, don't plan on fitting anything more that a few grocery bags back there before it's full. A++ for first time buyers or for a cheap fix.
My Aveo
I love my Aveo! As soon as I saw that these were going to be coming out soon I just had to have one! It's great on gas, comfortable and very roomy. My husband is a big man and he has enough room for his long legs. I get great mileage and I just cant get over how good the car drives. I just can't say enough about my Aveo. I just hope more people buy them so they can experince the same.
