Beats My Wife's Mercedes 380 SEL
I was going to sell my Buick because I bought a Mercedes 380SEL for my wife. After driving the Benz,I decided to keep the RoadMonster. The ride is plush without sacraficing handling. It also feels that it can haul a trailer and take a beating the car sits on a ladder frame, very durable. Power is great with great gas milage on regular fuel. Realize we are talking about a car that weighs 4500 lbs, the Benz weighs 4600 lbs.The ride on the Benz is OK you do feel the road and it bumbs, Europian. If you want to hopup the car look at Impala SS.We've put 45,000 commute miles since we bought it 19 months ago with no major repairs done or in sight.
Hot Rod Buick Wagon
I bought a very nice '94 wagon with 88k miles on it about 13 years ago for $3,200. I added a cat back 2.5" "X" pipe with low restriction but quiet mufflers, a low restriction intake and air bags in the rear. This car had the 5,000 lb. tow package (HD suspension, 2.93 psi axle, HD cooling). It ran great and was very reliable; the only issue I ever had was with the main electrical bus bar. I replaced it with a later model, heavier duty unit and never had another problem. 22-24 MPG on the highway. My son took it to college and humiliated cocky kids driving older Mustang GT's and Camaro Z28's in standing start acceleration contests. I raced a Lotus Exige and hole shotted it so bad it couldn't catch up in two blocks. No tire spin, just a super quick launch. The most surprising thing was how well it handled (police car suspension with the air bags set at 10 psi). I added an A pillar mounted tach and trans oil temp gauge as I used it to tow a 3000 lb. camper. Very comfortable, well controlled ride and cushy velour seats; I wasn't tired after 400 mile trips. I sold it for more than I paid for it after driving it 3 years. Car and Driver's 1994 road test recorded a 0-60 time of 6.6 seconds which was quicker than the same year 1994 Mustang GT. This is a well built, solid automobile that has appreciated greatly over the last few years."Why take a cooler when you can bring the refrigerator"? Quote from a wagon annual get together. A fun car to drive and approaching classic status.

watch out for this...its potentially deadly...
yesterday as i was going from neutral to reverse in my driveway.the throttle raced to full and i couldn't stop the car.i ran into my house going about 35 miles an hour and totalled the car and broke my collarbone and obviously messed up the house too.it happened so fast and it went at full speed that i didn't have time to turn off the engine thinking it was just a stuck pedal...but it wasn't and it only stopped on impact.the airbags never deployed and i still haven't removed the car from the house...i was alone thankfully or else there could have been a far more serious outcome. has anyone else experienced this???? i had no warning the '94 wagon has 100k miles on it and is in 9.5 shape.
