2019 Buick Regal Sportback Essence 4dr Hatchback (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 9A)

I bought my 2019 Regal Essence at the end of the year and got an incredible deal because it was used as a “Demo”. Didn’t even have 1,500mi on it and I got a $35k car for $25k brand new. These things are great deals now too. Anyway. It’s super quiet inside, I’m only 5’11 and 165lbs, so as someone fairly light the seats are comfy, bigger people may not like the seats on long trips since the padding isn’t terribly plush. Fuel economy in the city is about 26mpg roughly, excellent with the turbo. Road trips I’ve gotten 36mpg. Seems reliable enough 18k miles now and zero issues beyond the finicky infotainment system. In dark paint colors the lines on this car are gorgeous. Mines the rioja red metallic and when it’s shiny and clean it’s like red glass. Beautiful. UPDATE: It’s been a year now owning the Regal and I have zero regrets. The only issue we’ve ever had is the infotainment screen can be finicky at times, could probably be fixed with an update. Car is still supremely comfortable, fast, gets looks everywhere I go, and quiet as a mouse on road trips. Really sad Buick stopped making these.

Worst car ever purchased

It’s pretty, it’s quick, and it is junk! Between rattles, shake on highway ( after 4 months at the dealer for that issue they said “ it isn’t that bad” and gave it back- gm customer care said they back their techs), display screen stops working intermittently, Bluetooth won’t pair/ aux works sometimes only, USB charges but won’t play ( my sticks work in other gm’s just fine), now at 101000 km the transmission quit, apparently it is destroyed but they aren’t sure why and saying might not be covered, onstar roadside will surely take you to nearest dealer regardless if they’re closed for holidays and if there are any car rentals or hotels/motels in the area. It has also had motor mounts issues, axles replaced, etc. There is a problem with the 9 spd transmission and gm will swap the out only on suv not the cars. Steer clear. This car is made by Opel overseas and known for being a poor quality car over there. Stay away if you can.

2019 Buick Regal Sportback Preferred II 4dr Hatchback AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 8A)

Love the comfortable ride and handling especially with AWD. Plenty of power for my purposes. The "but" is in town mpg during the winter season; around 16 mpg. And that's with conservative driving habits. Should be better for a 4cylinder turbo. Highway mpg is OK at low 30's.

This car handles beautifully, has great brakes and plenty of power. The transmission shifts so smooth. Only 3 negatives on this car, rather not have the auto shut off/start system, The front seats are too narrow, and the $2000 radio has terrible reception.
