One Sweet Ride

2022 Buick Envision Avenir 4dr SUV (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 9A)

I was planning on buying the BMW X3 until I test rode the Buick Envision. I test drove both and felt that both cars drove equally as well, but the Envision has a more elegant, streamlined shape. The interior is very posh and luxurious as well, with lots of soft touch padding. You also get more bells and whistles for thousands of dollars less. I purchased an Avenir model 5 months ago (9/2022) and have nothing but praise for it. It drives smoothly and comfortably and is very quiet. No highway noise seeps through the cabin. I find the soft leather seats to be very comfortable, even on long trips. The car has plenty of power and accelerates quickly. The 10.2 inch HD screen is super clear and I like the fact that it is integrated into the dash unlike many other cars that have it sitting on top of the dash like an awkwardly placed tablet. I appreciate that it has a switch to deactivate the auto stop/start feature, but wish it would not default to being on every time I start the car. I have trained myself to push the switch evertime I start the car. I find the cargo space to be adequate for my needs and probably meets the needs of most people. The back seats offer ample amount of room for my two teenage sons. Again, I am very happy with the car and would purchase it again if I had to do it all over.

My Avenir

Just purchased this wonderful midnight moon blue Envision Avenir 3 weeks ago. It has the whisper beige interior which I love. The small SUV is so Buick. Rides like a dream. So quiet. Many Avenir tech features. Get ready to learn if this is your first technological featured vehicle. Very easy. Looked at all trim levels. Avenir is the best! Did not go with AWD. Didn't feel living in Florida was necessary but is another feature Everything is at eye level. HUD for the first time is terrific. Love the high definition rear view mirror camera! Only option not offered is power folding side mirrors. Odd. Had it on my last vehicle and truly missed. Love the toggle lift up and push down gears on console. Spacious. Excellent interior trim in my opinion; not overboard. Has many luxury features without the price tag. Don't let the inline turbo 4 cylinder fool you. Great gas mileage so far and plenty of power. Take a look and consider Buick! You will not be disappointed. 100% made in China and imported to US. Odd again but not your father's Buick.

WOW!

Buick got it right with this one...We ended up buying the ST model, it rides a little rougher than those without low profile tires but still a good ride with sporty look. The Envision is not extremely fast but does have plenty of Gitty up and go and corners well for an SUV. The transmission is awesome shifts very smooth, we done 80 mph through the mountains and the RPMs remained the same as on flat ground. I feel like this thing is very roomie in the seats, I'm 6'0" and feel very comfortable in the front and back seats Cargo area is a little small but I feel there is enough room for 4 people to take a week vacation. The screen is user friendly, has a very clear picture, and I personally love the way it is turned just a little to the driver and still poses no problem for front passenger to operate. When I look at the Buick Envision, I see one of the best-looking SUVs on the road. When I sit in it, I feel the quality. When I drive it, I feel the luxury. I could go on and on about this vehicle. If a 4-person Luxury SUV is what you are looking for I would encourage you to try this one out.... Awesome Job Buick!

Next Generation Envision

Purchased a 2021 Envision for my daughter. Preferred trim in Summit White with the Sport Touring Package and Comfort And Convenience Package. Highly recommend the Comfort package. You get a lot of amenities for the money. Vehicle looks very modern. We test drove the new Ford Bronco and a Chevy Blazer. The Envision is far more superior. Very smooth and quiet ride with the 20 inch wheels. Dash layout is impressive with the display screen angled toward the driver. Seats are comfortable. The standard safety features are awesome. Glad there is a switch to turn off the engine stop start feature. Visibility is good. Plenty of engine power. The problem at this time is finding what you want due to the shortage of new vehicles available for purchase. I had to drive over 500 miles to purchase the vehicle. Highly recommend the 2021 Envision. Update: We have owned the vehicle in our family for just over three years. It has held up well. Other than routine oil changes, the battery has been replaced and we purchased a new set of tires a few months ago. Just over 56,000 miles driven thus far. One issue that has been a concern involves the black sport trim on the outside of the vehicle. Since the vehicle has the Sport Touring Package, there are quite a few of the glossy black panels on the vehicle. The outside coating on the doors around the windows on both the driver and passenger doors has peeled off. I consulted a local body shop owner and was told it is common for this to happen because the black appliqué panels do not have any clear coat on them and the peeling is caused by UV rays. It looks pretty bad in that it takes off the black gloss shine. You might keep this in mind if you are looking at buying an Envision with the Sport Touring Package.

Have had my Envision for a week now and am getting plenty of looks as this’s is Honda country so this updated design and sleek look really stands out! And the ride is to die for, so smooth and floaty over bumps and I am loving the huge touchscreen with all the tech features I could want! I am learning about all the safety features which are standard on every trim and have actually lowered my car insurance rate! Seats are comfy and heated with upgraded package I got, but a little firm so we will see how they do on a long trip next month.

Wanted to Love It, But Too Many Problems

I drove a Lexus IS then a Mazda6 for the last several years. I was looking for a SUV and test drove just about every SUV there is, including luxury. Finding a SUV that was sleek and forward thinking was hard. Through two months of test driving, I kept coming back to the Envision and finally purchased a few weeks ago. It’s a beautiful SUV, and the ride quality is fantastic. I feel in love with the interior, particularly the infotainment screen and it’s angle to the driver. The technology is easy to use and a good mix of having enough, yet not overwhelming you with too much. The ride quality is great, HP is more than enough, camera quality is fantastic, and most of the technology is easy to use. A few little things with tech that can be worked out, but nothing to complain about for sure. I do wish the rear storage was a bit more, and I would love to see Buick make these in a hybrid for increased MPG. That said, from a 44 year old who never thought he’d see himself in a Buick, to the same 44 year old thinking this SUV is great and sexy, I love it!! UPDATE: I purchased my 2022 Buick Envision new in January 2022. Since 2003, I’ve owned a Ford, a Lexus, and a Mazda, all purchased new, but the Buick has been my most recent vehicle. While I wanted to love this SUV, my experience has been very frustrating and disappointing. At the 3-year mark, I’ve already had to replace several components due to issues or complete failure, including the transmission, air compressor (which fused and caused the air conditioner to fail—in August), driver’s seat electronics (random failure), OnStar/satellite module (twice), torque converter, and coolant cables (unexpected early leaks). I’ve been meticulous about taking the car in for regular maintenance and service, but without the 150,000-mile warranty, I would have been burdened with enormous repair bills. This car has required more repairs than my previous four vehicles combined. The repair wait times have only added to my frustration. The dealership has been great in helping me—none of the delays were their fault, as they were waiting on parts—but it still took eight months to repair the seat electronics and six weeks for the transmission. The OnStar/satellite module has been a recurring issue, and for over a year, I couldn’t use the mobile app. While not using the app was itself not a major inconvenience, it was frustrating since I was paying for the service. While the technology is impressive when it works, the reliability has been a constant problem. The cabin is well-designed, comfortable, and perfectly suited to my needs, which makes my disappointment even greater. I expected much better product quality from GM and Buick. While the dealership has been outstanding, the frequent reliability issues and random failures have left me with no choice but to trade in this vehicle soon. I’ll be returning to one of the Japanese automakers, as I foresee too many future issues and repair costs with the Envision. Let me know if this works!

Phantom Massaging Drivers Seat

I replaced my 2017 Buick Envision Essence in May 2021 with a 2021 Buick Envision Avner. I enjoyed all the new technology found in this vehicle. The ride is relatively quiet, however there is some road noise which can be attributed to the 20 inch Continental tires. Just recently, the massage function on the driver's seat has a mind of it's own. It will inflate on its own and there is no way to turn it off. I have had it to two dealerships and one thought they had solved the issue. As I was leaving the dealership lot, it again inflated on its own. I have taken it on a trip and it inflates and deflates for 25 minutes and then shuts down. When I stop and restart the vehicle, so does the inflator. I will be making another appointment at the dealership, but will also call GM Customer Service looking for a remedy. This is not acceptable for the money I paid for this trim level..

So classy even when you close the doors they close so effortlessly the doors don’t make loud noises it’s trim is really calming this is a superior car. I used to have a Tuscan Suv Limited and this car is far more superior. Price is affordable.

I love a lot of the new features on this compared to my 2017 Buick Envision. Especially the electronic features to keep eyes on the road while driving. However, this car no longer has a/c controls for individuals riding in the rear seat. The air vents back there are small and the output is not very strong. I wish they hadn’t messed with the old feature of dual controls for passengers.

Purchased an Envision about 2 months ago. It rides and handles well. The infotainment screen is pretty straight forward, although I don't care for Android Auto. Text messages don't seem to come through on it. I accepted it with no chip for heated seats and steering wheel. Supposed to be installed sometime later. Could be a long wait. Not Buicks fault though. Just a few complaints. The front seats seem to create a little leg discomfort on longer trips. The no hands lift gate only works half the time. The memory seat seems to mix up driver 1 and 2 occasionally. I'm hoping to get these issues fixed. The seat discomfort is probably my main concern as I travel a lot.

I went to a 2019 Envision to 2021. Love that they made it bigger than what I had. Went with a sport package. But lost a lot of things, that I had on my previous one. But my 2019 drove so quiet and smooth than 2021. 2021 only has 1000 miles on and it starting to have hesitation issues when accelerating. After reading some issues on 2021 Envisions. I believe they need to do recall and fix this problem before someone gets hurt.

This vehicle is top shelf. Great body lines. Exquisite interior. Luxurious inside and out with multiple driving modes. It is fast and sleek without losing any of the comforts and expectations I have with Buick. Save the money and don't buy the BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, etc. There is no need! The Buick Envision Avenir is Legit!

I bought it June 1st and waited until I drove for a few months(8,000 miles). I did a lot of research or Luxury SUV's. None came close to the Price $46,000 fully loaded and gas milage 30 MPG on the road 25 combined, using Regular 87 Octane gas, nearly all required Premium gas and could only get in the mid 20's MPG. The standard features are fantastic! Many of the other Luxury manufactures charge for the standard options of the Buick. The only option I could get on this was folding mirrors, but I could live with out that because everything else was so amazing. I have an AWD model and I love that it is selectable to save on gas. I took a road trip this Summer hand was amazed that I could get 31 MPG averaging 85 MPH from Holbrook AZ - Kingman AZ and on my return trip averaged 32 MPG from Kingman -Holbrook at and average of 75 MPH. The only negative I have is when it connects to your phone in Apply Car Play is kicks you out of your local radio station and selects the last audio option you were using on your phone, again just a minor irritation. It is also a very unique vehicle, locally I have only seen 3 others driving around town. On my road trip from New Mexico to California I only saw 2 on my entire trip. I really love not see many around, but when the word get's out more people may be getting them, if defiantly is the best bag for your buck in the Midsize Luxury SUV catagory and I looked at Porsche, Mercedes, Audi, Volvo, Lexus, Acura, and BMW none even came close to the amount of options, standard features and gas milage.

Electronic Systems Problem = Got Rid of Vehicle

I strongly suggest anyone reading this looks at other makes/ models! I recently bought a 2022 Buick Envision Avenir loaded with basically every option available. Previously, I owned a BMW X3 that was getting older. While I liked the ride of the car, similar to my last Buick, the vehicle has electronic systems that cannot compare with BMW for reliability. For example, the front collision warning light goes off randomly while I am driving when I am not close to anything. I basically just ignore it now. The automatic high beams switch on and off repeatedly at night while driving in the city. I had to take it in twice for a Service Instrument Cluster warning. They also had to address a recall issue. Next, I got a Service Driver Assistance System warning. Dealer and GM claim that a rock or something must have damaged the sensor, when the front end of the car is totally pristine otherwise. So, they are charging me big bucks to replace a sensor on a basically brand new car. For these $, I would absolutely look at another brand. I only wish I had known what I was getting into. For sure, this will be the last experience I have with GM in life. Ultimately I paid this vehicle off and then sold it to CarMax. Unfortunately, I will not be purchasing another GM product in the future. I tried to support a USA manufacturer, but I got burned in this process.

I purchased my 2022 Buick Envision Avenir because I loved my 2019. Since I purchased the vehicle I had nothing but problems. My check engine comes on and off for no reason. I took the car in and they replaced a part but yet it still happens. Now since my purchase my Instrument Cluster says it needs to be serviced. Like how many mechanical issues can this vehicle have. Let's not forget to mention that when you try to pick up speed it lags or you hear the engine grind. The message chair ball is always sticking out when you re-start your vehicle and sometimes the button to depress the ball doesn't even respond. I should have stuck with my 2019. Get it right Buick. I am about to file a Lemon on this vehicle.

Transmission failure at 3929 miles

I loved the car for 3 months - bought it new with 86 miles on it. At 3929 miles it died on the road - diagnosis was transmission failure - after 50 days in shop and 6 different tries - dealer service center manager flew an engineer from GM Detroit to repair vehicle. Car operable until 5900 miles when fuel pump failed. Car in shop 99 days waiting on fuel pump from China. GM has finally decided to replace vehicle - since no luck getting parts needed to repair. These cars are made in China and all parts are also only available from China. Buyer Beware - I was told by GM there are 1820 plus Envisions waiting on a fuel pump replacement - wonder why fuel pumps fail on cars less than 1 year old ? My first new car purchase - such a disappointment- and Dealer and GM not really willing to help until Lemon Law attorney got involved.

Just turned 7000 miles and headed back to the shop for the 3rd time. All electrical problems. Service airbag, had to replace parts. Service instrument cluster, 1st time said loose connector message returned 24 hours later now they say they don't know. Probably going to have to replace the instrument cluster which is backordered. Has been short computer chips since new and was told ETA was September, here we are moving into December, no chips so we are still lacking features we paid for. Would not buy one and won't buy Buick again.

I upsized from a Buick Encore. Wow, it's the best car I ever owned. Cinnabon Red, Essence model, SunRoof (didn't want, but choices were few). I drove 100 miles to get a different Envision, I was going to 'settle' on a color I didn't want. This one came off the truck and I claimed it. I have 10,000 miles on it in easy Hiway driving. Like this car so much. Big enough to put a 55" TV in it to bring to my home. Wife has the Enclave, which is like driving a big house around town. I agree this Envision is peppy, fuel-saving, comfortable, kinda quiet, and has many features of modern cars like Apple Car Play. It took a while to get used to the new style shift lever/button/thingys. I don't mind the auto-stop at all (some people don't like that feature). Heated seats, 2-person position auto power car seats. But I do wish it had the garage door opener feature in the roof. I have to dangle my opener from the window shade. Kinda cheapens it, you know?

Worst purchase experience imaginable with Palmen Buick in Kenosha WI to begin with. Anthony Buick in Gurnee refused to rotate my tires when I presented with their coupon for oil change and tire rotation but did tell me there were two safety recalls on the car that I was never notified of. Anthony Buick in Gurnee reported to BUICK/GM Corporation they "fixed" the recall issues and GM informed me that because the issue were "fixed" I am now responsible for any repair costs for those issues. Since leaving Anthony Buick with my car, the FORWARD COLLISION alert has been coming on intermittently even though it is turned off. The car engine accelerates when I apply the brake to stop at times and the dash panel goes black while driving down the road intermittently. Also, when I am listening to the FM radio, it automatically switches over to SIRIUSXM even though I do not subscribe to it. My name is Michael Barr. If you believe these issues are not real please contact me. Additionally, my spouse has a Cadillac XT4 Sport addition that cost around 16 thousand dollars more but the insurance premium on this Buick is higher. The insurance company told me it has poor safety ratings. I will be glad to sell this car to you. I WILL NEVER IN MY LIFE BUY ANOTHER GM PRODUCT and I advise you to stay clear of them as well if you like peace in your mind. UPDATE: 2022 buick envision preferred fwd, 16,244 miles. Already Buick informed the dealership while I was having an oil change there were two safety recalls to address and I was never informed about them in any way. Buick says Anthony Buick in Gurnee "addressed" the recalls and if those items have issue in future I am responsible for payment. Now, there in another light on in the car indicating the car is unsafe because the safety restraint system needs service. This includes seat belts and airbags according to the little light that is on. Buick is so corrupt they are not reporting the recalls but trying to secretly address them when you have your car serviced. The transmission jerks hard, when I brake sometimes the car engine excellerates. I have taken very good care of the car and got it new. The Android Auto function cuts in and out so you cannot listen to music very long before it has to be reprogrammed. It is a beautiful car in my opinion but beauty is only skin deep.

Nice interior, fake wood trim too glossy; reflects glare when sun hits it. Temperature control cumbersome to adjust. 2.5 liter engine peppy, but can take time to accelerate hard if not in torque band. Power lift gate awesome, including kick action if hands full. Very nice SUV. Fit and finish are excellent. I got cargo pull-shade cover, roof racks and rain guards for windows. Drives very well and is comfortable.

Purchased Avenir trim in May, 2021. Rich garnett metallic exterior with black leather interior. A real head turner. Quiet, smooth ride, and good performance. Plenty of room and comfortable.. Have 4WD and panoramic moonroof. Dash, instruments and technology top notch. Aerial view parking camera is great feature. Massaging seat very nice. Wife loves the car. Glad we purchased before the chip shortage. Received factory incentives and other discounts. Excellent luxury and value.

The car does not have a nice drive. It's very jerky and not what you would expect from a buicK. Also the Brakes are very loud and make a noise like whbe they need to be changed. GMC keeps telling me this is an issur with all the cars becasue of a new brake material. This is very disappointing.

I bought the 2021 envision avenir, i thought i d love it traded in my buick lacrosse that i loved. The envision is only three weeks old, with 40 miles on it i have had to make two service appointments so far and that really makes me mad the first issue was the driver lumbar feature had a mind of its own, id deflate it and it immediately re pimped up on its own. They tell me its working as designed. Its associated with the easy exit. If i dont like it, turn it off. Heres the best part i go to puck up my car, they had it for 3 days. I start it up and a god awful noise occurs. Luckly i had the service tech right next to me, he says oh was it making that noise before? Uhhhhhh NO, I said. He then says its the seat fan. Omg what the heck! Keepmin mind i was right there at the dealership and to fix it they made me set up another appointment. What terrible service, and a brand new car. Good luck if you get one of these lemons

This is my very first time buying a brand new vehicle. I have to say, I'm VERY disappointed!!! I bought a 2021 Buick Envision. It's very pretty to look at. But I don't know from one acceleration to the next, if it's going to hesitate or if it's going to accelerate too much. I have my grandchildren in my truck with me on a daily basis. I shouldn't have to be worried when I drive, if I'm going to be rear ended. (Because it didn't accelerate like it's supposed to). Or if I'm going to rear-ended someone. (Because it accelerated too quickly that time). I have read other that have the same problem. What is it going to take to get it fixed/recalled??? I definitely don't feel I bought a dependable vehicle i can count on to run well and last a long time. I'm pushing it to rate the 3 stars.

This happened to me it was very scary - I was shaking after the incident. 4 hour trip when passing another vehicle the gas peddle stuck at 5-6 rpm! Kept hard pushing brakes and it kept going faster and faster - It still wouldn’t slow down. I pushed neutral and hard braked on the side of a Major highway. What the heck happened??!! It was freaky. Had my oil changed the next week at Dealership in McKinney, Tx. They said they've never heard of this issue. :-(

I was planning on a 658-roundtrip drive and saw this sitting on the rental lot. From the moment I got in and fired it up. I was amazed at the quality and design of this vehicle. I had to check the logo on the steering wheel again. The sound system is great, very little plastic usage, great pep, and I averaged 28.9 mpg. The downsides for me are, it didn't have blind spot monitoring, transmission can be jerky in the first 3 gears, and there was an annoying rattle that I couldn't figure out. All in all, this is the first new Buick I've driven in some years and if this is the direction GM is headed, I say to GM = ABOUT TIME. I shouldn't have to buy a V-Sport, Corvette, or Escalade to get the best GM has to offer. I'd say, if you are in the market for a little SUV, put this one on your list. You will be happily surprised!

I've had this car for six months. I'm the only owner, it had 30 miles on it before I purchased it. The check engine light has been on three times. The first time was an issue with adding new fuel and they said the company is looking for a fix. Today my battery died and I had to have it towed to the dealership. They replaced the battery and gave it back. The check engine light is still on. The best part is you can't actually use the auto start if there's a check engine light on. It's going to be 6° tomorrow and I get to get into a cold car that I'm paying a pretty high amount for.

I have a 2021 Buick Envision ST. Every morning very 1st drive out, the transmission hesitates between the 4-5th gears. The engine RPM jump 2-300 for a second then it shifts into gear. This only happens 1st thing in the morning or after sitting for at least 8 hrs.Upon stopping then going through the next shifting sequences the problem in not there. Dealership says there is nothing to worry about.

My wife loves the smaller suv's that are out and after getting an offer on our 2020 Buick Encore GX for more then we paid for it two years ago we replaced it with the 2022 Envision AWD. It is a larger suv than the Encore GX, but rides smoother and has a stronger motor. Just a little bit less on the mpg 32 vs 30 but the ride and lack of road noise is wonderful. Plus having a larger car on the roads doesn't hurt in case of an accident. The interior is beautiful and well made, the seats are firm but comfortable with plenty of leg space and head space even with the large sunroof. It's just a great car for the money. The display wraps around the driver so everything is there if you need it. 2.5 years old now with 22600 miles on it. Only tire rotations, oil change, and filters are the out of pocket costs. It's pretty bullet proof well made suv for the money.

Great car, with many new features. Very comfortable & stylish, decent on mileage. Take off is not the quickest, but not horrible. I love this car and look of the 2021 Envision. Update: I turned in my Envision sadly as it was a lease and purchased a 2024 Envista which I was then involved in an accident which totaled out my car. So, I went for a lease on a 2023 Buick Envision Avenir. Love the Buick Envision

I loved the white on parchment Envision Avenir. I was super impressed with all the tech and the 10.2 inch screen that was angled towards the driver. The rearview mirror that could become a video display and the fact that it had active cruise control and other hi tech safety features as standard. As a GM stockholder, I was proud of the fit and finish. However, there were two break points that caused me to buy a much more expensive CUV. One was the short front seats which did not give me the thigh support I needed for my long trips to the Hamptons. The second was the lack of the ability of lowering the rear seats from the hatch area which even the dealers were not aware of,

2021 envision aviar. White with whisper beige interior. We like the looks, the size, the power and how it drives. Dislikes: Not as quiet as I expected, no wind noise but too much road noise, our 2011 Cadi XRS and 2018 silverado are quieter. The whisper beige interior extends all the way to the carpeted floor, even the door sills are beige, so any area down by the feet always are scuffed or dirty looking. What were they thinking. If these two items had been remedied I would give it a 5 star rating.

I do a lot of highway driving and transmission is revving higher and using more fuel. Otherwise great vehicle but local dealerships have no ideas how to fix this issue.

Very sharp looking car. Fun to drive, quick and nimble. Like the 10” screen and controls angled toward the driver. Then…..the materials in the cabin are pretty bad. They’re very hard to clean and lots of places for dirt and dust to get caught. Trim at the bottom of the door collects everything and will not come clean. Power hatch started working only once in awhile after 10 months. Dealer claims it’s ok. On startup car takes about 25-30 seconds to idle down even in the summer and is rough until it comes all the way down. 2 Dealers say it’s ok. GM says too bad. Loading up and been doing it since 15,000 miles. 3rd trip to dealer for clunking noise in the front before they found front spindle and rear control arm both bad at 30,000 miles. Heat/ac acts like it’s on auto and speeds up and slows down when it wants. Quiet Compartment? My other car with 250,000 miles is quieter. Love driving the car, but built cheap
