After a multitude of trials I opted for the Buick Encore GX Select and have no regrets. Excellent comfortable ride, 1.3 liter Turbo with the 9 speed automatic transmission is ample power and smoothness. All needed options are included, great infotainment system, lots of room and cabin storage space. Ample cargo space for everyday and travel use. The hidden under cargo platform where the spare tire is located is very useful. Because of the Covid Pandemic, we have only added 13,000 kms to our Encore Gx. Still, I do not regret my choice of vehicle. The ride is comfortable and gas consumption is adequate (so far averaging 8.8 litres per 100 kms, about 70%/30% city-highway) Along with Continental Viking 7 winter tires, the winter driving feels secure and the GX performs well in all winter conditions. Has enough power for my driving habits and some. My only minor negative is the front seating. Seating could be wider. It may feel a little cramped in the driver side. All in all a good choice.

I like the vehicle looks and ride but the 3 cylinder engine takes some getting used to!!! A lot of vibration at slower speeds.

I am coming from a 2.4 liter Equinox, and the Encore GX is much peppier and gets about 5 mpg better. It is very comfortable and quiet. There's a little growl from the engine when you really get on it, but I wouldn't consider it intrusive. It is also roomier than it would seem to be based on the small exterior, but it is a little smaller than the Equinox.

I bought mine in Sept 2020 with some discounts and a trade-in, got it for a great price. I was worried at first, my first time with a compact anything, but so far I like it. I worry about the auto-stop, wondering what will happen if it doesn't crank back up one day, but I am a worrier by nature. I'm getting 32 MPG with mixed city/hwy trips, which is awesome. It has 4000 miles on it and so far, no complaints. I'm not sorry I bought it! Update: I've owned it for nearly a year and have had to have a minor recall and a sensor replaced. Glad that happened during warranty. Since my last review I discovered a way to turn off auto-stop (per trip). It hasn't really effected my gas milage. MY MPG is averaging 32MPG with mixed driving. It handles well at 75 MPH, excellerates fast once it rolling. Fun to drive. I dont have kids so the back seat down and the cargo area is roomy enough. Will carry something 8ft long inside, like a rolled carpet. I've only gotten 6000 miles on it for the first year, hope it stays this good. Not sorry I got it. Update requested by Edmunds; I've had my 2020 Buick Encore GX for about a year and a half, about 9000 miles and it's still an awesome suv.
