Step it up BMW

This is my second X5. I love everything about the car with a few exceptions. I find the driver’s seat to be a bit too firm on a long trip. Wish it was a bit softer. Second, the basic technology is lagging. My son just bought a Honda CRV with more standard technology than my 5. Backup cameras and side warning systems are getting pretty standard on other cars. BMW needs to step it up. Lastly, the nose of my latest X5 looks too much like a Chrysler. That said, l love the split tailgate, the interior lighting, the cargo space and everything else about the car.

There are some very good things about this car. It seems faster than advertised 0-60 and 60-0. Space and comfort are very good. Fit and finish are all as expected for mid level BMW... although I did have one small trim piece on a vent pop off and have to be glued back on. There is a lot of tech in this car.... feels like I am still learning it after 1 year of ownership. Ours has one of the lower safety/autonomous levels, and lacks adaptive cruise or lane adjustment. I average 17-18 in town and 23-24 on the highway. We looked at 1 year newer MDX and X3 before deciding on this one and I'm glad we did. First major service found boot tears/leaks in rear axels and cost $1800 to fix both. Otherwise no complaints. UPDATE - this has been a great car so far. I feel like the tech is finally learned, and only complaint is how long the heater takes to warm up on very cold days. 81k miles, and definitely considering another BMW in the future.

Best Luxury SUV

For the price point thesis the best mid-size luxury SUV. The SUV handles like a car and BMEW has reduced the weight so it is preppy and ver responsive to the accelerator.
