BMW 530e - just not a reliable car.

I've been continually disappointed with BMW dealer service. My vehicle went (was towed) into this dealer for a high voltage battery waring light. It took around 4 days and me having to call the dealer vice them calling me to get the full run down on the vehicle’s issues. A faulty high voltage battery on a plug-in hybrid does not seem like something that will be fixed quickly, but I was not offered a loaner or any other acknowledgement that my car would be in the shop for a long time. After the car had been there for 10 days and they confirmed it was a repair covered under warranty (8yrs/80,000 miles for the battery - my car is at 27,500 miles) I was told the parts would be around three weeks. No calls, no updates in those three weeks. I called the dealer at the three-week mark and was told they didn’t have the parts and they “had no way to give me a timeline for the shipment and repair”. Facing an indefinite amount of time without my car and again there was no concern on the dealer’s part or offer for alternative transportation. I had to call and press to get a rental car authorized (still no loaner), a process that took several days and elevating to the service manager. I received an Enterprise rental, a worn-out Toyota that smelled of smoke and vibrated above 50 mph. Now transportation is transportation, but when I pay to own and drive a BMW 5 series, a tired smelly rental is hardly comparable especially when facing an unidentified amount of time for my car’s repair. Rental aside, I was NEVER able to reach my advisor or the service manager on the same day I called or texted. They NEVER called me first with news or updates. Completely frustrated with the process after nearly 3 months, I finally got my call returned to let me know the parts had been shipped. The total time without my car was 91 days, and I experienced a general “we don’t care” attitude from this dealer and BMW North America the entire time. My BMW 530e has spent over 115 days of the last year in the shop for a recalled turbo, a failed A/C compressor, and a failed High voltage battery. I can only conclude BMW does not make a quality product anymore and in my experience, BMW service centers don’t care about their customers. BMW sold, never coming back to this dealer or brand.

Very nice interior, sporty for a 4 cylinder, love the exterior. Have had no issues in 5 years. I average 32mpg for long drives with no charge. Average about 38mpg when charging and daily driving (drive about 60+ miles per day). I can't knock the short distance for all electric (Maybe 16 miles) because I knew that getting into it. I use the battery more for an mpg booster.
