Fun, but should be better

The car looks wonderful, inside and out. Build quality is excellent. Performance with the Tiptronic and with no chip mods is fast, but not wickedly fast. In city driving, I am getting from 19 to 21 mpg and I have reached a steady 28-30 mpg on 70mph freeways (you can get 32+ mpg if you choose to drive 60mph in the right lane with the trucks). It is a heavy car (~3500 pounds), but that is to be expected in an all-wheel drive vehicle.

This is a very special and unique car to own. It is a Porsche fighter without a doubt, yet rather stealty and you can bring friends along. It is the biggest German bang for the buck. The cars that are comparable (M3, CLK55, C32) start at $10,000 more and go up rapidly from there. It is quick in a straight line, yet very comfortable and compliant.

This is the fastest car I've driven. Not only is this car fast, but it corners on a dime. I'd be willing to bet you could take almost any car on a wet road around corners. I knew this was a nice car, but had no idea of the craftmenship until I started driving. Like most people, I wanted a safe, reliable, fast, good mileage AWD vehicle. This was my number one choice after driving the X-Type and 330XI. The price was cheaper and I'll be honest it out performed it's competition.

This car has smooth power delivery and great looks. The Quattro is excellent in wet and snowy conditions and delivers power well during acceleration. I love the six-speed transmission and the turbos allow passing without down-shifting. I can't wait to see what Ingolstadt comes out with for the next generation S4!

I was looking for a performance vehicle that could carry more than a overnight case, and this is it. It's looks may not scream speed and handling, but that is just fine, since these outstanding features attract the wrong kind of attention.
