PHEV for the win!
Love this car - we get about 20-25 miles a charge and that’s enough for our local errands and trips - we drove 600 miles in the first week on a single tank of gas since we were charging it every night and operating pure EV for half those miles. 360hp takes off like a rocket, traffic jam mode basically drives for you under 40mph on the highway, great CarPlay integration with Siri and overall just a fun quiet comfortable car. Main complaint is that the seats are really uncomfortable - my wife seems to have no problem with them but to me they’re stiff and cause back pain - if it weren’t for ergonomic cushions I wouldn’t be able to drive this car it’s that bad. Another minor annoyance is that I tend to sit far back which makes the touchscreen hard to reach - it would’ve been nice to have the option of a control knob like the old MMI. Finally if I were to do it all over again I would’ve gone for prestige instead of premium plus for the matrix headlights alone - it’s a minor difference but given it’s the face of the car I wish we’d have gone for it. I can see keeping this car 5-6 years before going all electric with the supposed Q6 EV coming out.

Disappointing Experience with Audi Q5
Two years ago, my family and I decided to lease an Audi Q5, hoping to enjoy a premium, comfortable driving experience. Unfortunately, our expectations were far from met, and we feel compelled to share our negative experience with potential buyers. Subpar Build Quality: The Q5's build quality left much to be desired. Despite being marketed as a luxurious SUV, the materials used felt cheap and flimsy. The constant noise we experienced, especially on bumpy roads, only made matters worse. Inadequate Soundproofing: We expected a serene and peaceful cabin, but the Q5 failed to deliver. The poor soundproofing allowed a significant amount of road and wind noise to enter the cabin, making every journey less enjoyable. Unreliable Engine Performance: In the two years of owning the Q5, we experienced numerous engine issues. Even though it had been regularly serviced, the engine was simply not reliable, causing us to question Audi's engineering standards. Slow and Inefficient Service Centers: Each time we needed to take the Q5 to an official Audi service center, we were met with slow service and long waiting times. This only added to our frustration with the vehicle, as we had hoped for a smooth and efficient maintenance experience. Frustrating Leasing Experience with Audi Financial Services: Our experience with Audi Financial Services was far from pleasant. Their payment systems were consistently glitchy, causing unnecessary delays and complications. This, combined with a lack of proper customer support, made the leasing process more of a hassle than it should have been. In conclusion, the Audi Q5 was a major disappointment for our family. We expected a luxurious, reliable, and comfortable SUV but were met with poor build quality, constant noise, unreliable engine performance, and a frustrating leasing experience. We would not recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a premium SUV.

Avoid Q5
The Audi Q5 is for some reason categorized as luxury SUV. Let´shave a closer look to its real performance and suitability as family car. Chassis –The Audi dealer has ensured me that the standard chassis in combination with 19 inch wheels is very comfortable, so I haven´t ordered the optional air suspension also because of delivery issues in 2022. Well, it isn´t. This combination on the contrary to his presentation is that uncomfortable that it doesn´t fit for a normal daily use. You will feel in your back each, even the smallest road roughness or damage. The standard OEMs are able to provide higher comfort chassis solutions without air suspension, why should Audi get additional payment for the same? Interior front part The problem with the missing comfort continues in the interior of the car. The seats are uncomfortable too and it is very difficult to find the right driving position. On the center console there are just two small drawers, so small that they aren´t good for anything. Below the elbow rest you have the smallest compartment in the class. Additionally you will have here the slideable phone charger which closes either this space or the cupholders which is the only loading compartment of reasonable size. The material selection is far from the level of luxury. The plastic materials aren´t really soft. The materials are in best case on the level of the standard class. On the other hand you will get piano gloss on the middle console that isn´t practical anywhere. Audi has decided to remove from the middle console the remote control of the touch display, so the only option is to work with the touchscreen directly during driving which is no real fun. The navigation doesn´t provide you automatically alternative routes if there is a traffic issue in front of you. You have to hit the respective tiny button on the touchscreen during your drive. Interior rear seats I am 179 cm tall, and in my driving position I had to push the seat backwards so much, that on the rear seat behind me my legroom is at zero. The tunnel is just huge and tall, the car is definitively no 5 seater. The investment into the rear seat package doesn´t make sense, it just allows to pull the rear seats forward thus further reducing the unsufficient legroom. Trunk The size would be appropriate, but the surface isn´t flat and there are no hooks for bags. Summary If you consider the Q5 as family car, you should consider twice before you buy it. I find it deceptive that this car will be compared to the GLC or X3. In terms of luxury level and driving comfort it is just not comparable. If any comparison is needed than from the low cost segment. Audi is simply selling low costs solutions for premium price.

2023 Q5 plug in hybrid
I've had the Q5 for under two years. The car has been in the shop five times because it unexpectedly dies when driving it. It doesn't give any warning, it just shows the warnings as it happens. Very dangerous situations include driving 70 mph on highways, much lower speeds on local driving streets. The dealership put on over 500 miles on test drives stating that the car is fine. Picked up the car and it died 12 miles before I could make it home.

2021 Audi Q5 after driving about 1200 miles.
Fast speeds with fun tight handling. The step down speed off the line is a mixed review. The 2021 Q5 will take off fast and pass other quickly most of the time. Automatic windshield wipers are nice but not perfect on the speed sometimes. Automatic Led headlight make other drivers mad. LED is very nice for the driver but not nice to have follow you. My wife said she hated me driving behind her at night. Lots of fun to drive overall. Looks are perfect for a small SUV. Automatic power windows are nice to have in front and back if they would work better. Should have better control of when to automatic window and when not. Seat heaters are great! Seat comfort is not great. We probably will not be buying a 2021 Audi Q5. More car shopping for us.
