I previously drove a 2001 and 2002 C70 with 17 inch wheels. I lived in Kansas City and loved the way it handled in any type of weather. In Fall of 2006, I purchased a 2007 C70 and have had an expensive problem. My previous care was totaled and I needed a car fast. I had my heart set on the Volvo C70 and found one in San Diego (we now ... Read More

Hello All, I'm a 37 year old in Los Angeles. I ordered my Flint Grey Metallic with Off Black Interior in October 2005 and received it mid-July 2006 (and going with the theme, I had originally thought it would have been delivered in March - closer to my birthday). Its loaded - Dynaudio, 18" wheels, nav and park asst. Prior to this vehicle I owned two V70 XC wagons - a ... Read More

I am probably not the best person to ask, since my evidence about the SAAB is anecdotal. We supply Corporate Cars to a number of companies, quite a few of whom have had SAAB 9-3 sedans. I always ask people how they like their previous car, and in the case of the SAAB most people weren't happy with it. We rarely see any 9-3 convertibles here so I don't have any ... Read More

Please respond quickly as I went to purchase a 2002 c70 convertible ht wariety yesterday. I had requested a copy of the service records from the previous volvo dealership in Florida. I had spoken with the service rep and had been told that all maintenance was done on the car, owner had hit something and had to have a new tire and front suspension as well as a motor mount. When ... Read More

I am considering a 2002 volvo c70 with 41,950 miles. When I first saw it at the dealership, it would not start because the battery was dead. I drove another volvo c70, liked the looks of it but it seemed to have a humming noise coming from the engine (not a typical humming noise). I have read reviews on volvo in Edmund's and they concern me as the talk is about ... Read More

Thinking about buying a C70. Have been looking at the 3 series BMW for some time and never really considered a volvo. Would like to hear from C70 owners to get an idea of the dependability of this car. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I have a C70 conv 2002 and I think I had your problem with the steering quirks when U-turning.....I went to the dealer and what they did they changed both sway bars end links ( P/N 30714686-0), lube the steering stops and replaced some metal glue bolts in the suspension (P/N 1161370-0). I must tell you the problem is gone ....Hope it won't return, but the VOLVO service was outstading goog ... Read More

  • C70 Clutch

Written by: mrbillz on Mar 29, 2005 9:01:10 AM

I have a 2002 C70 coupe and the clutch went at 40,500 miles. Most of my driving is open road so now I have a small battle with Volvo because they want to say it is due to normal wear. I don't have the car back yet so I don't know the details of what failed. I only know the dealer wants $1,400. Any thoughts or comments?

I'm 6'5" and have never been more comfortable in any car than in my Volvo. Now, granted, I have the S70, but I've sat in the C70 and I found the seat to feel exactly the same (so I believe it is).

Found a beautiful 2002 Cerified C70 at a local Dealer. Perfect condition and only 6,500 miles. Dealer said the car was originally bought at his Dealership by an older gentlemen who decided to trade it for an S80 because he was tired of subjecting his friends to climbing into the back seat. Needless to say, I totally benefited from his decision. Thanks to all who posted on this site because it ... Read More

Just looking through edmunds own overviews - New for 1999: This year, buyers of both coupe and convertible models will enjoy standard interior enhancements that include a leather steering wheel, redesigned interior light switches, 130-mph speed limiter, front fender turn indicators and red walnut dash trim in place of last year's black wood. A new 17-inch alloy wheel option is available in 1999 for both coupes and convertibles. The coupe also ... Read More

I own a 2002 C70 coupe, have no prob w/ the SC901 3 disc. I have found it to be comparable to the 6 disc in my old T5R. Good job on the alpine, $49 isn't bad for the adaptor. The C70 is really the last Volvo that you can get an aftermarket changer for. The new P2 cars, like the S60 have to use the factory system. You can't add ... Read More

  • Interested in a C70 but...

I have been researching the C70 quite heavily over the past month. However, I came across the following from Consumer Guide: "News: Volvo's coupe and convertible were slow movers right out of the box, and demand has since shriveled to almost nothing. Also, the C70s are the only Volvos still using the old 1993 850-series basic design, so they're now quite obsolete and ready for retirement. Late word is that they ... Read More

Hi. First time poster. I own a 1999 C70 and have only put 19500 miles on it. Since buying it new in 2000, I have had the convertible top in to be repaired 6 times. The top sticks and the windows will not go up and the chime keeps going off, even if the top is up. They replaced sensors and microswitches and finally Volvo North America stepped in and "fixed" ...
