Review
Good things: dimensions, height, styling, reliability. Bad things: it's a nightmare to drive. The ride is harsh and the transmission is jerky to the point of being dangerous. Step on the gas hard when you need to accelerate quickly, and it all but dies on you. Then the turbo kicks in and it lurches forward. Then it goes into its perpetual gear shifting and you lurch forward, seize up, lurch forward seize up, and so on. The breaks are no better. If you're driving at a slow speed and so much as breathe on 'em, they bring the car to a screeching halt. It's even worse if they're wet. One tends to try to avoid breaking because of that. In a word: ugh.
Suggested Improvements
1) Make it stop lurching! I don't know if it's the transmission or the turbo or both, but whatever it is needs to be fixed. 2) Make the breaks work like any other car's and not bring the car to a screeching halt. That's dangerous enough as it is, but on ice and snow, it's REALLY dangerous. 3) Offer it with a V6.

Did you buy it used? Sounds like you bought a lemon. Did you take it to the dealer for inspection? If it is a 2012, it should still be under warranty. I have a 12 and I have NEVER had those issues. I did take it in to get looked at because of squeaky breaks and an intermittent EPC light. I the breaks were clean and inspected and one of the fuel pumps was replaced. As for the shifting, there is a fix for that. It is actually designed to shift at lower RPMs for fuel economy. The "fix" reprograms the computer to shift later. It cleared up my "rumble" sound I had at low RPMs. It is NOT a dangerous car. You need to take it in and have it inspected.
