2013 Volkswagen GTI 4dr Hatchback w/Convenience, Sunroof (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 6M)
After a year and a half of driving my 2013 GTI I have to say, Great Car!
This is our road trip car, so it is used primarily for highway cruising and long days of driving.
It is fast, fun and frugal.
What more could you ask for?
-----UPDATE-----
Well, it isn't just for road trips any more, just turned 45k miles and not much has changed, the car is Great!
I have been especially impressed … with how well the car has held up (I had a 2002 that I loved, but it admittedly had its issues), I have not had a single recall or any mechanical issue with the car, ZERO. Gas, oil, tires and unplugging the sound maker under the dash, that is all I have done.
It is still fast and fun, I keep track of my gas mileage pretty religiously and have averaged 30.7 mpg.
My biggest complaints are with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System which sometimes has a mind of it's own and the OEM tires which I have finally worn out and replaced with something a bit more sporty.
All said it is really just a premium economy car. But with plenty of power, sporty but comfortable handling and a very nice interior. What more do you really need?
Drive on!
-----UPDATE-----
I absolutely love this car.
Still with me, almost 64,000K and still no real issues outside of tires, I am now running BFGOODRICH g-Force COMP-2 A/S, but have hit a couple big pot holes and had to replace one.
There is a intermittent squeak coming from the rear hatch, and one form the sunglasses holder in the console in front of the sunroof, but nothing else to even complain about.
My total fuel economy has dropped .2 mpg over the last 20k miles but I have done more city driving, so that is understandable.
I have been waiting for something to fail and nothing has. I have read horror stories about carbon buildup on the direct injection engines, and wonder if I have just not noticed degradation in power?
Great Car! When it is time for something new VW will be on my list.
