Review at 52,000 miles (5 years of ownership)

2012 Toyota Highlander 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
Rattling on the dashboard started to take place due to the LCD display screen..Steering feel started to have some rough spots/clicking. Overall car has been performing flawlessly. I replaced my own disc brake pads and rotors at 45,000 miles with ease (given the right tools and safety gear). Visor on passenger side had to be replace under warranty . replaced all 4 tires around 38,000 … miles. I still enjoy engine's 270 hp response when passing. Handling is ok but could be better. You get more body shift movement in your seat than say a regular size car due to the seat contour. Car rides quite comfortably with 5 passengers during short or long distance driving. Engine noise is quite acceptable. Car handling is quite sloppy especially at quick acceleration (FWD). Car tends to veer/pull on one side and may take some time getting use to. Gas mileage in my city driving averages 15 to 17 MPG and ~ 24MPG on HWY. All controls are quite user friendly and easy to use/reach and learn. Visors could be positioned better. Need a simple Tire sensor reset procedure.
2012 Toyo Highlander - Overhead Console

2012 Toyota Highlander 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
I purchased my 2012 Highlander in Dec. 2012, I do love my Vehicle, befor this I had a 2000 Rav4 so this is a step up for me. I am having Major issues with my Overhead Console that has the Small Compartment above the Rearview Mirror. I have taken it in already for this problem twice for falling completely down and the small door not closing. I'm wandering if other owners are having this … issue and what have they done to fix it because it seems that the dealer just won't fix it they just bandaid the problem. I just don't kbnow what to do anymore and I am frustrated because this is my new car and I shouldn't have any problems and yes I have purchased the full and extended warranties. Help Please
Toyota dealer doesn't care about customer safety.

2012 Toyota Highlander 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
While I really like this car, but one of the problems I have had reoccur is with the drivers seat. A local Toyota dealer repaired it once and recognized the Toyota Factory extended warranty, which covered the repair and paid for a rental car. A couple of years later, the problem returned and I took it back to the same dealer. Still under warranty I explained that the car was unsafe to … drive because the drivers seat would fall unexpectedly, which they agreed was a safety issue, they told me to bring the car back to be diagnosed, at which point they would probably have to order parts for the repair. After the parts came in, bring the car back in and they would provide me with another car to drive, so in the meantime, just keep driving an unsafe vehicle. WHAT? Are you serious? I am surprised that Toyota would allow a dealer to use their good name with such little regard to customer safety. This is not the Toyota that I once knew who cared for their customers. Sad
Excelent car
