Since 07, my 04 6s(v6) has been strong. I bought it at ~60,000 miles. All maintenance done early except the spark plugs. Don't drive too long with a misfire/vacuum leak/hesitation. Lucky I had knowledge of precat failure prevention so I didn't find out the hard way like others...keep an eye on fluid level and color esp oil. Since about 90-100,000 miles I noticed the oil level drops a lil every 1500 miles which is normal on most vehicles. Don't trust oil change places, they only pour 5qts in, but this engine takes 6...oh and Honda seekers don't buy Automatic Accords, my wife's tranny died@100,000 miles...fluid drained and filled every 10,000 miles since 40,000 miles. 2004 Accord EX V6. I would have to say that my automotive preference is "luxurious sporty". I like cars that look good, handle well, and have enough power to do pretty much anything I want. The Mazda 6s is an absolutely fantastic choice if you are looking for the sportier version of an Altima, Accord or US class equivalent. The 6s handles like it's on rails, accelerates extremely well, and stops on a dime. The interior is laid out very well. I first thought it was a little "too much" but once I got used to it the interior is laid out perfectly. The best part of this car is the price. For a car that costs $7k less than an Altima you get a lot more car. Oh one more thing, the traction control really works.

Bought this car just about 2 weeks ago. As far as I can tell this is an amazing car. Not a single bad word to say! Although it's '04 it has only 72K km on it. Looks just like new, not a single scratch. Since it's V6 3.0L, you don't even have to press the gas, it's ready to take off by itself. I would defenitely recommend it to anyone!
Family bought it back in 2003/4, 160k miles strong

I'm going to be buried in this car. My family has owned this car for its entire lifespan. My dad bought the 2004 Mazda 6 v6 new with top trim level. The car has never had engine or transmission problems. The only maintenance has been standard and a few airbag recalls. We've replaced the oil every 6k miles, replaced the brakes every 40k miles, and done all the other maintenance needed, and the car just hums along perfectly. When standard maintenance requires replacing parts, like the brake pads, rotors, and calipers, it is expensive. However, they do seem to last longer than other vehicles. I love this car. The tach never exceeds 3000 when driving normally, but you can kick it faster than new cars if you need to. All of the horses have stayed in the engine over the 16 years we've had this car. We've accrued some body damage to the car over the years. Even so, the incredible body design of the car makes it beautiful. No other car from the era holds up in looks, but the Mazda 6 is still a good looking car. The only real downside is the mileage. We get 23.4 mpg in normal driving, and 26ish mpg on a highway (measuring between full fills and mileage). Still, for a car from that era with 16 years in the engine, that isn't bad. The mileage will drop significantly in winter and if you leave an oil change waiting too long (my brother, before I got it, let it go 8k miles without a change; it was down to 16mpg in winter driving). The brakes are amazing. You can slam them and stop nice and quick when you have to. I've avoided a few bad accidents thanks to them. Finally, the car has only just started rusting this year. We haven't been particularly careful in preventing rust, so the fact that it went 15 years without a spot is remarkable. At 160k miles, 16 years, this car is going strong.

I have had this car for a week now and I can say that I really enjoy having this car. I purchased it used for $9k with 82,000 miles on it and this thing is loaded. I love the seats, they are supportive and comfortable. I love the stereo, the bass is good, but not overpowering. The speaker quality (bose) more than makes up for the lack of speakers. The engine makes a good noise, and is pretty quick. It doesn't take much to get this car up to speed. Unfortunately, the transmission is a bit dim-witted and definitely hampers the cars 0-60 time. I reckon that this car will do 0-60 more than a second faster if you went with the manual. Good build quality, good ride, and well equipped.
