This is my second Lexus, and I also have a new 05 Highlander Limited. I have owned many Toyotas and I keep coming back to their products because of the exceptional build quality and bullet proof reliability (a luxury in itself). This Lexus looks great in black and the black interior is easy to maintain. The ES has a smooth ride and predictable, if uninspiring, handling.
The interior wood trim (red stained veneer) looks great with the black interior and I like the five star safety rating and curtain airbag protection. Ventilated seats are a neat feature as well.
It's a great near-luxury car but looks much too similar to a rehabbed, dolled up Camry. I do not like the lack of good interior lighting; there is a dome light only, no header panel illumination other than map lights. The radio is kind of weak compared to my last Lexus and Toyota Avalon.
