Jaguar X-Type 2003
The Jaguar X-Type 2.5L has the stance of champion race car but, unfortunately, its designers and engineers forgot about the power curve. Its power to weight is insufficient to move it quickly from a standing start even if you jump on the accelerator. If you want that kind of performance, don't buy this car. For me, that didn't matter, the car rides like a dream in all weather conditions, tracks straight and true and no amount of snow can stop it. The sound system is excellent. If you like cruising, this car will hum along at 100 mph. all day without a problem. Remember: The X-Type was bred for the autobahn not the drag strip. If that's what you're looking for, this is the car for you.
Good Stuff!!
Great work car! Drive 60 miles daily in Michigan weather. All wheel drive is great with nice MPG

Get down on it.
I purchased this delightful beauty with 115000 miles. It's been nothing short of wonderful. It's a eye catcher. Handles like a dream. I'll keep it till hell freezes over. Lol

I love my Brit!
My X-Type is an automatic 2.5 not a manual as the description says. (Automatic not included). I traded for it used 3 years ago with 110,000 miles. Even though I don't have any service records, it had obviously been very well maintained and garage kept. After reading some forums about the X-Type, I had the transmission flushed and filled and the transfer case fluid changed. It needed 2 tires and that's it. I recently did a LOT of maintenance that a car of this age and mileage needs. Other than the tires the car has "needed" nothing. I look forward to driving it every time I get in. It's comfortable, handles great and make me feel special. The ride is a tad rough but I wouldn't trade the handling for a smoother ride. I've owned a lot of cars in my life and I have to say the Jag is my 2nd favorite car that I've had. (My 1st fave was a 1987 Mazda RX-7, I'm too old and fat for that now...lol). I plan on having the Jag for a long time!

"Experts"???
I was an MG driver for many years and have always enjoyed the "British" feel for a car. Yes, the X-type is not a standard Jag, but with gas at $4, who would want one? This car is perfect for what we all do -- drive to work, the Metro or run a few errands. I find nothing "cheap" about the interior; the camel interior goes beautifully with the British racing green exterior. Yes, I can't get to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds, but Ford (which has a long tradition in building British cars) has put together just the right package of performance, appearance and creature comforts to make this car worth every dime. You'd be a fool to waste your money on a far more expensive German or high-end Japanese car.
