First I would say that I am a car nut, I try to get the best buy for the money. I bought my Tuson after looking at all the models in my price field. Beings this vehicle was new this year I had doubts about it as I would with any new model. A few weeks after purchase the wife and I took a trip to Fla. and back a total of over 3000 miles. I am one who likes to check and keep track of the mileage and during this trip we averaged just a little less then 24mpg. Since the Fla. trip we have ventured to Colo. and another trip to Niagara Falls and the mileage has picked up a bit. So far the best has been 26.2. With the vehicle itself it has been perfect as has been the dealership.

Fun while it lasted

I loved my Tucson, disappionte in milage, but fun to drive. Great amount of room for luggage for a week trip with a family of 5 (2 teenage boys and husband all 6'+). Last week was t- boned and rolled, landing of the roof. I walked away without a scratch, a few bumps. Side air bags went off. The 5-star crash rating seems to be deserved. Will probably buy another one.

Best value for the money

I had previous cars and this one beats them all. I mainly purchased this vehicle for safety reasons (air bags) and the warranty coverage. To top it off Hyundai recalls are almost nil and none for Tucsons. I used to believe in American cars but my last one had five recalls in two years and they were all safety related (Ford)! And one prior also had multiple recalls (Pontiac). I just got tired of going back to the dealer and waste my time on things that were supposed to be done right the first time. Japanese recalls are on the rise. Hyundai quality has really improved and since money is tight these days, I can't afford to spend it frivilously. It is the best bang for the buck.

Great Little SUV

This is a great budget line SUV that is well designed and tastefully appointed. My other car is a BMW and while this is not an X3 it is a really nice vehicle for the price. Traction control, side impact and head curtain airbags, tiptronic transmission, seats that fold flat, great towing capacity.... The list goes on and on. I only wish the gas mileage were better. I consistently average 21mpg in a 70/30 mix of highway / city driving, and I avoid rapid accelleration.

This vehicle feels big inside but is not much bigger than the Elantra, and parks anywhere. Tons of nice features and safety packages (ABS, 6 airbags, TCS, ESC). Innovative fold-down hard back seats for cargo carrying. Interior looks better than expected for the money. No problems with acceleration or braking. Handling better than lots of non-SUVs I have owned. Warranty can't be beat.
