I have a 2002 honda civic and I bought it for raliability but the trany at 73 went out while driving in country road So I got standed for so much time having no option except towing it.Now I need a new transmission. So to me Honda is very overrated and it is not worth the price at all.Nothing different than any other american made car or better say it much worst.

You should know that Honda automobiles are universally known as being as durable as the human body, in that, as long as you keep him/her fed (oil Gas, water) with regular Dr/Mechanic visits, regular diet/oil, gas, water; it will keep going or growing well into their Golden years and beyond. Hondas are built to last, or at least they used to be. I driven a 2015 Honda Civic Sedan, and yes it comes equip with more electronics, and comforts, my 2002 Civic drives just as well and in my opinion, more reliable. The only reason I am considering switching cars is because I need more storage space for my growing granddaughter and all of her needed necessities.

I get great gas mileage in this car... I average 30 city, 34-37 highway. I once got 40 mpg and that's going through mountain roads. The only problem is the build quality, my engine went at 85xxx then my tranny at 146xxx. I could understand the engine because at the time I was doing deliveries with the car plus it was an unbearably hot summer. The tranny it just all of a sudden gave out without any warning. I've read from other sources that many people have this problem with the early 2000 civics (bad trannies).

Almost at the 200K mark with routine maintenance. I love my car. With studded tires I can zip around with no problems whatsoever in the winter. Reliability is of paramount importance to me and I'll be keeping her until she blows up on the side of the road. Hell, we all gotta go sometime...

Bought this car brand new in 02 and have had is since. Just got over 100,000 miles and it still drives great! And, of course, it starts right up every time without a doubt in my mind! Only minor issues with it, driver seat belt doesn't want to latch first time every time (just started this last Winter when it was really cold out), but would usually click in after two or three tries. SRS light just came on recently, haven't gotten it checked yet, but probably has to do with that. Needs new belts, but never anything serious wrong with it! Great car! Looking to upgrade to a Pilot or Odyssey now! Got over 38 mpg driving across country and usually about 29-30 around town (w/o hills)!
