I bought her 10 years ago with 15?,000. We are now nearing the 1/4 million milestone. I have replaced batteries at expected intervals about every 3 years. The alternator went out a few years ago crossing the Bay bridge, she ran on batteries only to the job location and got me back home with lights and and wipers in the rain on the way home. Other than that there is a climate control module that has got out twice, this new one claims it won't overheat, so far so good for 2 years, its under passenger dash and easy to swap out. I'm knocking on wood because that Duramax is the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. First 2wd truck I've owned, always been a Cherokee or Grand Cherokee guy. Had to buy it it tow my house (5th wheel RV) and I couldn't be happier, I've taken it camping and to trail heads no problem. The differential is quick to lock up if a wheel spins so you get posi traction, trucks this size are terrible 4wds anyways. They're too long and tall for serious 4wd. To sum it up bullet proof, and I live next to Oakland so that may be proven soon. Never chipped it, its bone stock. I know I could up it to 2006.5 specs but its pretty damn quick as is.
