2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Consumer Reviews
Do Not Buy
Brand new 2022 Silverado Custom, and my first GM product ever. Less than a month of owning it, one day it decided not to start and the battery was completely dead. I received an e-mail from OnStar saying there was an airbag issue and to contact the dealer within 1 day. This was a Sunday, so I did an online service appointment for Monday. Got the truck in and after going insane about not getting any calls from the dealership days after it had been there, I was told the front collision module was shorting out and a GM engineer was assigned to my truck to diagnose it. After nearly 2 weeks at the dealership, I got the truck back and wouldn't you know, the same issue again. It's back at the dealership and I am now told the GM engineer may have to come to the dealership to diagnose the truck. In addition to the safety issues regarding forward collision detection, the key fob will randomly lock itself inside the vehicle, and the factory paint job is a disaster on the drivers side doors. Never took notice to the paint since I picked it up while it was raining out. In direct sunlight the paint looks like a hologram and I was told by the Sales Manager and Service Dept that it is a factory defect. Piece of junk this truck is and very poor build,

Awesomely underpowered
The truck was good looking, interior was great, the truck had the options I wanted. The engine? 2.7 four cylinder? That motor wont getnout of its own way. First time I ever felt an actual under powered truck. I was coming from a Ford 2.7 v6 so I was not expecting blistering power. But geez, motor was shifting at 5k just to scoot around surface streets. No thanks.

Great truck so far
Went from a Tacoma (love this truck still) back to a full size truck. The Silverado with the 3.0L Duramax diesel engine is awesome!!! Especially the 23 models with the interior refresh. Great truck so far, fuel mileage is awesome too for a diesel. Got a steal of a deal on this truck, so took advantage at the time. Actually had an RST model on order with another dealer, but this LTZ truck ended up being about $600 more with a 72m/100k warranty than the RST build cost. This truck is a 2023 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab LTZ with the new 3.0L Duramax Diesel engine. (the page wouldn't allow me to choose this model so it shows the 5.3L 8cyl engine).

2022 chevy trail boss 8 speed transmission junk!!!
Brand new 2.7 trail boss whenever you pull up to make a stop the transmission makes a severe clunk noise when it is downshifting, took it to the stealership they told me this is normal!!!!! Avoid the eight speed at all costs 50 grand for this p.o.s. !!!!!
I like the truck...but
2022 refresh RST 3.0 Duramax, not the 5.3. So far the truck runs really well and the mpg is great. Best ive gotten is 28.7 and average over 23 but im not shy with the pedal. There are only 2 things im not fond of, the seats aren't the most comfortable and the new infotainment system is very slow. I came from a ram with Uconnect 5 so I guess I expected more. The position of the screen is much better but the system itself has a 2 or 3 second lag doing almost everything and isn't nearly as configurable. Don't get me wrong, its a good truck but theres definitely room for improvement
