Used 2006 Volkswagen Jetta Value Edition 4dr Sedan (2.5L 5cyl 5M) Consumer Reviews
You Gotta Get it
I am 16 years old, and I love this car. Both of my parents drive high end German vehivles and in my opinion this beats both of them. I suggest this car to any one, the Value Edition really is a value, it's a lot of car for the price. It comes much better equipped than the Golf but for practically for the same price. I love it and it's fast.
My Love of Jettas
I bought a 2006 Jetta Value Edition after little research. I loved everything I read about the car and was impressed with the safety ratings. I feel comfortable driving me and my little one around town. It is a very smooth ride and has a lot of power for a $20,000 car. The interior is functional and cool to look at. I don't think I will ever get bored driving this car.

Best Kept Secret
I think the Jetta Value Edition is VW's best kept secret; and it shouldn't be. Whether you are young, or not-so-young, I recommend that you check out this car. I'm glad I bought mine. I look forward to driving it every day. The cloth seat fits me like a glove. The 5-cyl. engine has good juice and pretty good low end torque. The transmission is tight and the gearing seems to match the engine well. This car handles better than anything I have driven in its class. It's packed with safety features. It is surprisingly roomy (my three teenagers can all sit in the back seat) and the trunk is huge. It has a 48,000 mile / 4 year factory warranty.
Continues to WOW
I still am in love with my Jetta. I a bought it exactly a year ago and every day it continues to impress me and others. The more I drive the car the better the gas mileage gets. I currently average about 28 mpg in mixed driving. While those figures are not the best in class it is still really good. Highway driving I have gotten upwards of 34 mpg. The 5-speed manual transmission is still as smooth as the day I bought it and the clutch is as light as a feather (no joke). The power is not overwhelming but is not underwhelming, the torque, especially midrange is what truely is impressive. My friends continue to be wowed at the feature content of the car for the low base price. Keep it up VW!
Classy Sedan at an Economical Price
The Value Edition Jetta is a very safe, attractive, solid performer. With exception of the 15" hub-capped wheels, the standard features (including safety features) are comparable to more expensive sedans. The performance of the 2.5L engine is not spectacular, but certainly adequate for everyday commutes. The torque of the engine is its most rewarding attribute. The handling is quite impressive, even on winding roads (with a wheel and tire upgrade). The brakes are quick to respond and the ESP option provides extra security during unfavorable road conditions. The cabin is very roomy and is comparable to the pre-2006 Passat, and the trunk space seems to be never ending.
