Powerful and quiet

2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee
After comparing and watching reviews for at least a year, I narrowed my SUV choices to the Ford Explorer, Jeep GC and the Honda Passport. When I drove the '23 Jeep GC it was the clear winner. The interior in the mid level Limited Trim is very nice, and not cheap looking like the Ford. The V-6 is plenty powerful and quiet with decent MPG's, getting about 21-22 combined. the style … of this gen 22 onward is more like a Range Rover and it's super comfortable. Jeep had some year end rebates and cash incentives, and I found a dealer that discounted another 10% after those incentives, and I could not pass up the deal. I keep my vehicles 15-20 years and do my own routine maintenance. I feel this SUV could easily go 20 years. The Honda Passport would be a close second with AWD, but it's not as capable off-road as the Jeep. Jeep (Stellantis) has a brand new assembly complex "Mack" in Detroit after watching the video, and seeing the technology involved. It looks like Stellantis is a serious contender, not just an European aggregator of forgotten crapboxes. I had a Cherokee back in 1988, but the modern quality is so much better.
