Worth the wait
Started looking 8-9 months ago and researched the Frontier, Canyon and Colorado. Nothing against them but the Tacoma is better in my opinion. TRD Sport 2wd with upgrade package. Power seats and lumbar, heated seats and steering wheel, giant 14 inch center console screen, trailer tow package, power rear window, running bar, etc. Rambling comments, seats are comfy enough, I'm 6 foot and have about 2 inches clearance from the roof, audio is great, dash speaker pops out if needed. There is a speaker and microphone above you in the roof for calls, crystal clear. Plenty of cubbies. Back seat is tight but expected. Storage underneath. Power outlets, all kids, everywhere. No USB so pop for the USB/C/A cord package. Tailgate has an assist up and down. Feels bigger than it is. Visibility is limited, like a Tundra so I dropped the rear headrests. Came with lane departure, adaptive cruise, auto breaking (I disabled it, it freaks out too early when your behind someone, rear cross traffic. Drives smooth and quiet-ish. Rear springs are an improvement. Steering is effortless. Power is steady and measured but the turbo kicks in when needed. My commute is 33 miles highway and so far I get between 22-24 MPG, better than the Ram I had. Fit and finish are as expected, good. Underground color with gray/black interior. Wasn't sold on the white dash accents but it fits. Complaints, for lack of a better word, auto start/stop, don't care for it since it comes on every time you stop. Turn it off and don't push the brake hard and it won't come on automatically, dash alert will tell you. Back seat, again, is tight, but you know that if your considering getting one. Dealer had about 12-15 on the lot and negotiated a bit, at least I felt that way, haha..., anyway, just glad I waited until they were available. .

Fast but slow
Bought a 6" bed Tacoma SR-5 three weeks ago. Love the truck. Has some get up and go. However, when the speedometer reads 87MPH I am actually only going 80 MPH. I took it in to get it calibrated and they can't adjust it. They said up to 10% off is acceptable. I am not very happy about that.

Toyota put it all together!!
Love the vehicle. Dislike the lack of trained salespeople to explain the vehicle's features

Rides like full size
Great truck and 4cyl with turbo is robust, quick, and drives great on highway with power. I haven't driven off-road yet, but assume it is a beast. Great truck overall and I love it. Some nits, the back seat/cab is small in 4th gen, and the tech packages are expensive, so 8 inch screen is cheap looking but works great with Apple car play.
