Used 2008 Toyota Sequoia Limited 4dr SUV (5.7L 8cyl 6A) Consumer Reviews
Towing
We all know how the Sequoia drives under normal conditions, but hook up a travel trailer and enjoy it even more. Our fully loaded Limited includes the air bag suspension which keeps the vehicle level without having to transfer additional weight to the front end. After a weekend outing to the Oregon Coast I was very impressed with the power this rig has. The combo with our 29' Tango was no match for climbing or descending the Oregon Coast Range. The transmission shifted with ease while in the tow mode and is simply a workhorse. The Sequoia handled better than any other truck / trailer combo I have driven over the last 15 years.
My family fun suv
I purchased our Sequoia in March, a few days later we were on our way to Pismo Beach. I really enjoyed the smooth ride and the level of comfort on our trip up North. My kids got to enjoy the DVD system and my wife and I enjoyed our Siruis sat. radio. We were going to buy an Armada but when we saw the Sequoia it just captured our heart and our wallet. Sorry Nissan!

Toyota is hands down the best for your money
Ok, I bought this 08 sequoia pre pandemic in 2020 as a 3rd owner and used with a 100k miles on the ODO, as a project, it had sun burns from being driven in Florida, and it had a check engine light on... Let me tell you, I would have never attempted this with a Mercedes Benz GLS! The car had 100k miles on it, give or take a few, and I had decided to replace all the fluids (0 reset, and flushed the transmissiontwice for 175 ea at the lube center), replace all the weathered trim and gaskets on exterior, paint from front hood to rear bumper, new tundra 20 inch rims, and matching tires from Nitto /ridge grappler. New bilstein shocks front to back, new spark plugs and upgraded brake rotors with cooling grooves and brake pads (huge difference) it all cost me just the parts and I was able to do alot of the work in my driveway, I did pay a shop for the paint, rotors and shocks, after all said and done it still hasn't cost me any more than 5k, I am not kidding, I paid 13.5k for the car and the worst i have to look forward to, is having to buy the gas every 3rd or 4th day, I drive about 25k to 35k miles per year (since purches that's 160 fill ups or so) I have 152k miles on this beast and since covid we had to extend the MVA document twice for the check engine light, which has to do with the evap system, we ordered new parts that took forever to arrive, but the evap cannister and purge valves stuck and needed to be replaced, my neighbor did a smoke test for 200 bucks and found out about the issue...so this is all costing me another 1000 for parts and labor, which I could still do myself with a 10 millimeter wrench, but why not pay someone. I saved so much money with a used car already... I have to drive 4 kids around all day and they beat this car up like it was trash anyway...lol. I hope this review will inspire more people to buy a toyota, I've owned 3 tacoma trucks before and this sequoia is just another joy to write about. Luxury doesn't have to be expensive to own, and if you're handy enough, you could technically fix everything that goes wrong with it on the side of the road, if you had too, no joke! As far as the ride of this car goes, it's pretty comfortable and I am German, so naturally I will take on anyone that tries to bully me in traffic...and you should see their disappointment when some 8000 lb truck fully loaded leaves them in the dust...lol Needless to say, I abuse this engine every day, in fact, I try to break it and it just won't stop starting day after day after day...verdammt! In my opinion this truck is under rated and yes, it could have better gas mileage, but you know what, if you can't afford it, don't buy it, utility vehicles cost money...I am a general contractor and it's just part of the game, there is practically a car made for every need in this world, so if you need the 3 rows of room for 8 people, you can't get that out of a sedan...sorry, just doesn't work well in this day and age. Cheers!

Lovin' the Sequoia
I chose the Sequoia because I did the research and read a lot of comments posted on this very website. I am very pleased with the Limited 4X2. The ride is what I expected, but even better. I love the turning radius, when once was disappointed with the Tundra radius. The Sequoia is very sleek in it's interior design. It is very spacious and love the tri-climate control. Gas mileage is about 16-18 hwy. The body is huge and the front end takes some getting use to when it comes to parking. I am very happy I went with an SUV, as a long time truck person, I am pleased.
Needed Improvements for this Day & Age
Overall, it's been a good vehicle. While most people are aware of what they're buying and all of the features that go with the vehicle, at the time of purchase, some "necessities" become apparent after your ownership experience gains tenure.
