Used 2014 Toyota RAV4 Consumer Reviews
Pretends to be a jeep
My sister in law bought a Rav 4 And all of the lights of the dash lit up and the dealer told her it would cost more to fix it then to buy another like vehicle. So the dealer turned off the engine lights and they were able to trade it in for a Jeep which they have had now for 5 years with no problem. The Toyota dealer also admitted that they had similar problems with the Camry. Toyota used to be a good car but they are over rated.
great product.
dependable, roomy, frugal, easy to get in/out of.

My favorite car
Simply stated, I love my RAV4. It’s 9 years old now & practically in show room condition. I only have 67,000 miles on it. It’s barely broken in. I’m glad I opted for the Limited trim. It has a lot of nice, maybe even luxurious features. In addition to the features that were standard with the car, I’ve added remote start & blind spot monitoring & cross traffic alert. A lot of people want to buy my car. I’ve done all the service & treated it gently. Too bad for them. I want to keep this car a long time.

Super durable
Bought it with 82k miles in 2021 zero maintenance had been done on it but didn’t know that. It sat for almost 2 years. Lost a water pump at 125k and found that out,I now change all fluids at 50k and it has 252k trouble free miles on it,I use it commercially hauling heavy luggage and auto parts and people. The interior still looks new and has only recently needed a wheel bearing, alternator and paint. The dang radio still works too. It’s starting to burn a quart between my 5k oil changes but at 252k miles I can live with that.

Transmission DIED at 125k...
We bought this care brand new back in 2014. it's been a great little car for my wife and through out it's life it only had a couple of minor issues. the driver's side door actuator died around 40-50k, luckily we had Toyota Care so they took care of it under the extended warranty. besides that 1 issue and doing all the recommended maintenance at the Toyota dealership we didn't have to dump any money into this car. fast forward to last wednesday... wife calls me panicking, the dashboard lit up like a xmas tree... TRAC light on, AWD light on, Check engine light on, the engine is revving up to 7000 rpm and car sounds like one of those fast and furious cars. so i had it towed to the dealer and the next few phone calls blew my mind and I'm extremely disappointed at Toyota... my service advisor called and told me the transmission is done and it'll cost 9k to place... my Rav is may be worth 10k trade in and they want me to dump 9k to fix this thing???? (comes to find out the earlier Rav's used a transmission design bought from Ford. (if I would of known this, I would of NEVER bought this thing.) I had a 06 4Runner sport and that thing was put through the ringer and at 120k it still drove like new and had no issues. my wife had a 03 Corolla and at 155k it also had zero issues. this experience sort of left a sour taste in my mouth for Toyotas... I'm not sure if I want to get back into a new one.

Been awesome purchase
Second owner and purchased this rig 4 years ago for $14000 with 40k on it. Worth $17000 now!!! Live in the high high Rockies where 4wd/awd is pretty much mandatory. Put some Hankook all-terrains on it for that reason. A beast in the snow!!! Pros: Easy engine to work on, good gas mileage, fast enough, reliable, decent looking, agile like a cat, sport dr option, very roomy, built in Canada, came with weather techs, good sound system, Cons: Loud interior, no intermittent wipers on LE model, cheap interior, would be better with at least 3.0 engine (had 2010 with 3.5l wow), cheap rims, suspension (I modified)

Sandy
Super comfortable vehicle to drive. Wires had to be replaced due to mice ingesting the wires. Toyota replaced the wires free of charge one time only. No problem since.
