Crown not as advertised

My thoughts after a brief trial run is the car lacked headroom and accessibility especially in a garage situation. Very disappointed as I thought it was the replacement for my old Touring sedan.

Still learning all the buttons, but so far we love the ride and the fuel economy.

Cramped awkward seating postion

First the door opening is space is not generous in terms of useability. I am 6 foot tall and my wife is 5 foot 2. We both hit our heads getting in and out of the vechiles. Since 1992 the wife and I have owned 9 Toyota. My family has owned Toyota's since 1974. The interior is very cramped for the external size of the vechile. Not clostraphobic but close. My head was rubbing the roof. I put the seat all the way down and the dasha nd steering wheel where then too high. Toyota only warranties the batteries for 8 years and so far I amnot aware of anyone getting 200K, 300K, 400K miles with any of the CVT's! At $47K MSRP I am not impressed at all. All weather cabability with 21 in low profile sports car tires not so much! You likewise do not have access to all of the HP and TQ on comman you only have voting rights! Some sketchy marketing! It was fast and had a decent ride but I did not feel as if it was a replacment for the Camry or the Avalon in any way! I have a 4Runner, 2 Camrys, a Toyota Starlet, Tundra, Tacoma and 3 Hiluxes. The Crown has an identy crisis.

Bought the car in May wanting to see how it handles in Nebraska winters. I do notice a pretty big drop off in MPG when temps are below freezing. but at 40F they rebound good. As far as snow and ice on streets it does a amazing job moving without issue. My Honda fwd would just spin. I'm impressed and happy with this car. So far no problems and rides like a champ.

I have issues with the car over revving or extremely charging not sure what it's doing and being very loud and obnoxious I don't think this is normal and I've never owned the car that did this although this is my first hybrid system (only does it when the car is pretty much at almost full battery capacity and it keeps going and over revving!! Dealer didn't see an issue after two attempts I have suspension issues from the start with suspension, bought it from an Inland-Empire CA vicinity.. finally after few wasted attempts and tries the third time they really did notice an obnoxious knocking and changed the left side driver side and after that the right side was notable and started doing the same thing took it in so many times and they won't replace it! two different dealerships now and involved Toyota and won't replace!!! Under a year old with under 10k now at 40 writing this, I have headlight issues not aiming properly took it in almost five times and still it does not be properly aim on the left The car is honestly great big comfortable compared to the options out there I picked it over the Acura because it's bigger and more comfortable 100% and I would get the 2.5 non-turbo coming from somebody who has BMWs for 13 years The MPGs are great The powertrain is decent for what it is but if you don't care about MPG get yourself the turbo or platinum I like only black cars mostly so I got the black on black on black and I love the interior that is not full leather leatherette or whatever they use these days.... That some kind of thick meshy doesn't bother me in winter or summer I drive a lot I refuse to fly as I'm scared so I rack up miles like crazy and I've been averaging 41 MPGs and not trying I'm used to 91 and I already know that is not even great so I put premium in my vehicle although it doesn't require it.. I will never do oil changes at 10K I just refuse that I always do my oil changes between 5k to 7K.. extremely surprised under the hood there's no shocks it's a good old-fashioned stick system that is mediocre same thing with the trunk area just a popper!! For a 44k to 65k LOL, not sure if you guys even noticed this but this car has soft close windows in the rear but not in the front for some reason and this is so mind-boggling to me and it should!!
