It works I guess
It's a great size and I like the LE AWD trim package, it has everything I needed. I have had some issues though six months into owning it. The door seals are great and have an occasional whistle. It has no guts to accelerate from a stop or from speed so passing is iffy. When I picked it up a blindside detector chip had blown and needed replacing and now the fuel sending unit is blown too. Both covered under warranty but not things I expected.
The new 2023 SUV in my garage
This is one of the more affordable small SUV's on the market and hopefully it will retain its' value. It provides a nice ride and easy handling. The rear compartment is ample but leg room for rear passengers is a little less so. There is no rear window wash or wiper! The windows are not tinted; that bothers my grandchildren & myself on sunny days. You can open this vehicle with your key fob but you have to press the buttons, it doesn't automatically open if the fob is nearby. It does not have a powerful engine, so it will take time to get up to speed. It's easier to connect to your phone if you own an Apple phone. You will need to download APPs to use the phone and radio.

Battle of the crossovers
It's good enough to get on the highway and does excellent at highway speeds. Yes it is a tad slow to get to 60, however how often will you have an open track straight to a highway without dealing with some form of traffic anyways. It has the best in safety and so far there have been no recalls. I have the Cross LE which is recommended by Edmonds and I love it!!! This vehicle was built for fuel economy and safety so still be surprised at what you pay at the pump. I left Nissan for Toyota and couldn't have been happier!!!! If you have the money then upgrade and get a Mazda CX-5 or 30. If you want reliability for the next 20 years trouble free well remember this was modeled after the Corolla which is the best selling vehicle out there and a Toyota brand. Also stay away from the dealerships right now!!!!!

Engine start/stop malfunction
These cars have a engine start/stop malfunction that causes the wheel to lock and you are not able to move the car. Upon further research it has something to due with a glitch when the windshield wipers are on at the same time you use the stop engine function. Several people have has this problem over a year and toyota is still selling these cars even though it’s a huge safety concern. I was stuck in the middle lane on a road with a 50mph speed limit. Luckily with my hazards on people payed attention and went around. The warning reads “low steering power” then says to “press brake firmly to restart”. That does not work. You have to put the car in park wherever your stuck and press the break with the car start button a couple times. I have filed a safety report NHTSA. The service at the dealership is obviously aware since they specifically asked me if it was raining while this occurred. I emailed my sales person who simply replied to “make a service appointment” as if they are’nt aware of the issue and have not been able to fix it for a year! I cannot believe they are still selling these cars. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR! Im so disappointed. I had a bad experience with a ford dealership and went to toyota hoping to get a reliable low maintenance car. Ive only had it a month:( UPDATE: I’m still having this problem. I’m working with a lemon lawyer to get it sorted out. Also, the car has a driver’s side airbag recall with no remedy going on 3 months now.

Great intro Car if you leaning towards Crossovers
Overall, Edmund's is spot on with their review of the car. My wife and i decided to go with the LE, Red/with Sunroof Option. It was only a two week wait, so it was worth it. XLE was tempting but dealers are milking the unwanted extras hard and forcing you to pay way over cost, so the LE was our best bet. Overall, my wife loves the car and for her it feels luxurious compared to her 2018 Volkswagon Jetta. The interior is nice, but does indeed feel a bit dated, as does the back camera, and the touch screen. I can tell where they cut corners, so if you can live with that its not a big deal. The Engine is a bit overly noisy too. Some nice things, the ride is smooth and punchy. Lane assist is really helpful, cargo room is good for what you get. We alsos love that the LE gives you AC vents for the front and back. Apple Car play is great and intuitive. Nice amount of USB ports. One in front and two in the back. I am really happy with the Q wireless charging as well. This is important as being able to charge your phone wirelessly in an emergency is vital. 6 Speakers sound great, especially If you dig electronic dance music like I do. Bass sounds great and high mid range. But it has its limits. Go too loud, and you can start to hear it struggle a bit. My wife's one issue is that she feels the car is controlling!😉 it has a number of saftey features that keep you in line, even when you park. It is always beeping at her! I think its great, because i know how she drives and she needs it! She does adore the sun roof and it was worth the extra 950, which we think is a fair upgrade Price. Overall, it is a nice car and a great value and serves well as a mid high end commuter car. It will not rock your socks but its reliable. I do hope one day Toyota will take a playbook from Mazda and give more trim and feature options beyond Mazda CX 30 has over 8 different variations, giving customers a nice range to fit ones style and wallet. A Carbon Edition Toyota would be sweet, but alas will never happen probably. Oh well! Overall, we are pleased!

Beware L Packaging - Toyota Petty
I have a 2023 Cross L AWD that I picked up in late March and now has 11,000 miles. I love this vehicle! What amazes me the most is the fuel economy. I’m getting a consistent 34 mpg or so. I’m coming from a 2016 Scion iM that got 36 mpg. So to have this Cross get similar fuel economy for a vehicle much larger with AWD is nothing short of phenomenal. I chalk it up to the efficient low revving CVT transmission. I loved the CVT in the Scion, which has already gone 210,000 miles. I chose the Cross and it’s CVT over the RAV4 and it’s 8 speed auto, as I assumed correctly that the Cross fuel economy would come out on the high end of the EPA numbers. My fear was the RAV4 with its slightly larger chassis, bigger engine, and less efficient transmission would return fuel economy in the mid-20’s. That fuel economy difference adds up when you take a vehicle over 200,000 miles. The engine has plenty of power for me. The warnings about the low power just don’t ring true for me. I find it has typical Corolla power, efficiently getting the job done. I have even pulled a utility trailer loaded with 750 lbs of firewood with no issues. My biggest complaint is that Toyota can be so petty in how they packaged this L. I am especially pissed off that the “so called intermittent” wipers that are just a single constant delay intermittent, rather than a common sense variable intermittent. Toyota is so petty they could have added the intermittent feature and increased the price another $25. To torment us L owners like this, is unconscionable. Oh what a feeling in any light rain! The L also does not come with a rear washer/wiper. What would this have cost them? $150 max? So damn petty to the point of not even making sense. So beware if you are thinking of getting the L model. Toyota intends to torment you for your thriftiness. I’m a little concerned about the thousands of times over the life of this vehicle that I press that “cancel auto stop” button to turn off that incredibly annoying feature. I’m not sure that Toyota designed that switch to cycle on and off that many times. I’m also not a fan of the automatic parking brake. I’m wondering how much it’s going to cost me when that inevitably fails, when the servo no longer serves. I’m loving the Apple car play, although getting from it to Sirius XM is less than intuitive when Apple car play is locked in. I love the ground clearance and the AWD system has worked well. The sound system is good. I have experienced that road noise “living in a sub woofer” effect, but I quickly get used to it and it doesn’t seem to be all the time. The seats are typical Corolla seats. Not as comfortable on long trips as my sporty Scion iM seats. The Cross handles well and the ride is surprisingly smooth on bumpy roads. Basically I consider the Cross to be a 2/3rds sized RAV4 without the $5500 price premium and with better fuel economy. I see a lot of L’s, so Toyota is capitalizing on the value of this great vehicle.
Excellent!!!
Picked up a 2022 Corolla cross LE AWD a few days ago and let me tell you I am in love with this vehicle. It’s smooth, comfortable and it’s oozing quality all around. The acceleration is good for my driving style. Size is perfect, ground clearance, Toyota reliability and resale value. This vehicle checks off a lot of my must-haves in an SUV. Toyota did an excellent job on this new model. Highly recommended!!

I love it but mechanically....
I have put 1600 miles on my New Toyota XLE Corolla Cross and paid 31k for it plus for the extended warranties. My XLE has heated seats with switches in the dash to turn them on and off just below the navigation (works great so far). The seats are comfortable for me but I am 5'4 and my significant other who is 5'9 but fitting a car seat in the back that is large greatly reduces the leg room. It has Wifi I think it only works with LTE and I have NOT noticed 5g so for a new 2022 this feels dated already. It came with JBL sound system which sounds decent (newer cars /tvs tend to have terrible speakers. So in comparison this one is as good as my 09 camery) Some times I have noticed that the dial will not adjust the volume which can be remedied by turning off the radio and turning it back on. Navigation says I will need to download an app to utilize it however I feel this should have been pre-installed and I have not found how to install the app however my apple play works great and I can use the navigation on my phone to project on my cars radio. Sun roof (no leaks so far works as should) Adaptive head lights (this is weird and seems to blind everyone coming my direction/ in front of me even when going up hills I don't know how safe this is but I can see like it is daylight at night) All wheel drive (seems to work as it should) Space/glove boxes/trunk (feels more compact then my 09 camery did inspite of it's SUV shape. The RAV4 is larger) materials/fabrics (decent but not luxury by any means) CVT Transmission- sounds terrible while Idling and doesn't stop sounding grindy until you reach 40mph. The Cross is very slow to gain speed so passing has to be carefully planned but it also gets 28 mpg on average with AWD being a reasonable trade off especially with current gas prices. **********Warning lights currently lit at 1600miles or before*** Note car has not been damaged in anyway and is under warranty ******* -Check Engine A malfunction in the electronic control of the engine, throttle or automatic transmission has been detected. Love this car
By far my favorite car I've ever driven. It's so smartly done and I love the way it handles. Very responsive steering and braking. Excellent on gas and I love the real time AWD, which my Rav 4 didn't have - it had to be engaged. I just love this SUV. Things some may consider cons, and to be considered when thinking of buying: it's not a speed demon. It does perfectly fine when it gets up to highway speeds but if you're looking for acceleration that blows you away this isn't that car. Space is adequate not plentiful. If you have a larger or growing family you may want to opt for the Rav 4 or Highlander. The front seat of the Cross is very comfortable, and there is smart storage in the cargo area but a couple sports bags will do a good job of filling it up. Overall I love it. Perfect for my needs.

Solid and comfortable, a bit under powered !
Picked up my Corolla Cross from the dealer a few weeks ago, it took a few months till it finally came in. This is a very solid, well made vehicle, reminds me of a larger Hyundai Kona which I owned previously. Lots of great tech and the mileage has been good so far too. Reminds me of a Rav 4's younger brother. The only downside is the road noise, I wish Toyota would have put more sound deadening material into this vehicle. Kudos to my local Toyota dealer who did not try to add thousands to the sticker price due to limited inventory. I am looking forward to years of dependability driving my new Corolla Cross. Bill fm Lawrence, KS. * 6 month update, Still enjoying my Corolla Cross, just had my free maint done. My only complaint would be in certain situations it is a bit under powered. Pulling out from a stop into moving traffic can be a bit tricky, the car does not have much low end power. I have read the hybrid model is more powerful, that may be a better choice to make. I am retired and do not drive every day. If this was a daily commuting car, I would definitely want more power and torque. As far as reliability and quality, no complaints ! UPDATE ONE YEAR LATER- It is one year later, pretty much the same with my Corolla Cross. As far as power, I am using the manual way to shift the automatic to pull out into traffic from a dead stop, it gives me a lot more power that way, M1, M2, M3, etc. The vehicle has been very reliable and mileage has been approx 30 mpg the past year. Only issues I had there was a air bag recall check, and a metal heat shield came loose underneath the vehicle that rattled, but my local dealer here in Lawrence KS, did a great job taking care of those issues for me. Kudos to Crown Toyota.
