Major quality problems
Quality is abysmal. The car started to develop problems when it had less than 3,000 miles. Transmission slips, especially when the car is cold. Transmission replacement did not resolve the problem. Also, many rattles and squeaks.
A simply reliable ride
We have had great success with this purchase. The dealership was not much help and costly but the vehicle has been very reliable for the past 7 years. No major malfunctions. It does use a little oil. Toyota had a recall on this but with a "Toyota Test" they decided it did not use enough oil to warrant a fix. It uses about a quart over 1500 - 2000 miles.

Where'd the quality go?
I have owned my Camry for over 2 years and 30,000 mi. Initially, I loved the car and couldn't drive it enough. Rattles, squeaking, and transmission troubles started shortly after. After several trips to the dealership, I am happy to report that everything has been taken care of. My wife and I were in a serious accident with it and while it was in the shop, we couldn't wait to get it back. Over the month it was in the shop, we rented several different cars and nothing seemed to measure up to the comfort and options of the Camry. Strongly recommend it, just make sure it has been taken to the dealership for the technical bulletins.
Like GOOD kitchen appliances:reliable/does the job
I no longer own this car. My daughter does. I can assure you that it no longer looks nor operates the way it did when I owned it. Even though this trim (Camry XLE V-6) was the top of the line for 2007, there’s no mistaking the Camry for either a luxury car or a sports car, even with leather seats and lots of power options. But it is extremely serviceable, reliable and has done what we needed it to do for almost 13+ years of ownership. Based on our experience with this car, I would definitely purchase another Toyota like this or a similar Toyota product should I have the need to replace this one. We own 8 cars, which is why this car does not have a lot of miles on the odometer.......but when we need it, it does the job and it does it well.........even for drivers such as teenage children / young adults who do not care for cars the way a mature adult would. This car takes a beating, driving through ice and snow and adverse conditions and does it well. We bought it as a 2007 model in the late Summer of 2006. Recently, I spent $2700 on 6 new ignition coils, plugs, wires, a new serpentine belt and I will be spending another two grand on front struts very soon. So the NADA on the car is only $8000, but I am sinking 5G’s into this car because it only has about 44K on the clock and a new one is between $32K and $39K similarly equipped as mine. So hopefully, even as my oldest daughter who borrowed it 10 months ago is abusing it, it will provide reliable service for a few more years...........a bargain, compared to a new car. I no longer own this car. My daughter has it in a punishing mrgacity environment.

Loving It
We love the pick up the car has, I'm impressed with the gas MPG. It's been very true to advertisement on saving gas. This car rides so smooth you feel like you're floating. It's easy to handle and Fun to Drive. The 3 kids have more than enough room in the back to be comfortable. Truck space isn't limited and I really enjoy that with 3 children and all their things.
