Used 2005 Toyota Camry Consumer Reviews
Manual transmission
The 2005 Camry is convenient and even comfort vehicle. However, the manual transmission on Camry STD 5M I am currently using is certainly the worst one I've ever tested. Those who are thinking about manual transmission should stay away from Toyota.
A Good Option
I have owned this car for almost two years now, and so far no problems. I am getting from 29-31 mpg when I drive it more than 90% of the time on the highway. The car is very spacious inside and the radio system sounds pretty good actually. I have the A/C on the minimum all the time and I live in Miami; that's how cold it is. Right now my Camry has 50K miles.

My Camry
I have had such good experiences with the Camrys I have owned. I decided to buy a brand new Camry and I must say I love it! It's bigger inside and very comfortable! I bought the V6 and this Camry has power! I love my Camry! It's very easy to drive and when I need the power its there! Can`t go wrong with a Toyota!
2005 Camry Safety Hazzard
In the fall of 2009 I purchased a used 2005 Camry LE. This has turned out to be the most unsafe car that I have ever owned. To begin with there have been multiple occurrences of unexpected acceleration which seems to be due to a design flaw in the brake pedal. It is too small and located too close to the accelerator which causes me to trounce on the gas when I intend to apply the brakes. I am very fortunate that I have not struck someone or something as this is a dangerous situation. I have taken it back to the dealer to adjust the brakes which has not helped and Toyota wants me to take it back for further examination, a process which would mean that I would have to spend money for this
Wanted to love this car
Get the car inspected at a mechanic before buying. The car and engine “looked” great but it was not the case. Entire engine blew 2 months after I bought it for $4500. A lot of money for my family. Thank god I had 3 miles left on my warranty. Still paid $400 out of pocket but huge repair they kept my car for 6 weeks. Immediately after I got it back found out all 4 tires were the wrong size. Went to do the brakes found out the brake caliper wasn’t even connected and missing pieces. And the knock sensor has been broken for a year since I bought the $170 part and found out you have to dismantle and replace 1/3rd of the engine to replace the sensor . So now I have a brand newish looking car that doesn’t accelerate, can’t go on highways and burns through gas and oil until I can dish out another $600-700 . I hate this car
