2nd Time Around

2005 Toyota Camry LE 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5M)

This is my 2nd Camry. My first was a 2002 which I love and still have. My 2005 is even better. I love the steering wheel mounted radio controls, the extra cog in the tranny, and the slight bump in HP and fuel economy. This car is smooth as can be. Great car for long trips. Interior materials are better quality than the 07 redesign. I love the fact that all I have to do is general maintenance. I have no troubles with this car or my 02 (which now has 140,000 miles). Have not had to see a mechanic not even once. As far as sportiness, there is none to be had here, look elsewhere. But if you are looking for a good car, that is smooth, quiet and reliable, then look no further than the Camry.

This is the first time I own a Camry SE to this date I have been extremely satisfied, the ride, comfort and the feel of quality in the car is superb. As an owner of a Honda for over thirteen years, I can frankly attest that Toyota (Camry SE) is of superior quality.

So far, so good

I have had my Camry SE (4 cyl.) for almost two years, and have put a lot of miles on it. Absolutely no problems with it. I had always known the Toyota Camry to be a very dependable car. I had always thought it to be an ordinary, "family"-looking sedan though. When I saw the 2005 though my opinion changed. It seemed to have a sleeker presence to it. Since adding my new surfboard rack and front-end bra to the car, I have friends commenting on how sporty it looks. Have to admit, the new 2007 Camry is an awesome, very stylish car. I will likely make that my next car. Until then though, very happy with the 2005. I'm sold on Toyota. The car, the dealer, the company, the service.

I will always keep my 2005 Camry - Best car ever!

Once you buy this car, you will enjoy the quiet smooth ride, reliability, comfort and low-cost maintenance. I like the way it looks and I've owned it since 2010 - bought mine certified used with 75K miles on it. My husband thought that was risky, but I disagreed and have proven him wrong. I know have $175,000 miles on it and the car is still going strong. I'm going to share something valuable I learned which would help any owner of an older vehicle with a catalytic converter issue, which is what my car developed at 160K miles. I always put high octane gas in it, but the prior owner probably did not, my mechanic guessed, so that is why it probably got dirty before 200K miles. I learned from an engineer that if you would like to solve this problem, fill up the car with the highest octane gas, drive it for 100 miles straight at 70 mph and it will clean itself. Otherwise, mechanics will either offer you $500 for your or try and send you Toyota to buy a front and back catalytic converter for $5000 including labor (otherwise it does not meet EPA standards). So, I filled up the gas tank, kept driving at 70 mph and the engine light went off and I passed smog. My check engine light stayed off for six months, and then I repeated the same treatment. Many catalytic converters of this car's age, including those of Honda's are stolen off of these cars for this reason (the replacement cost of the EPA's approved catalytic converter is so high). I will keep driving this Camry until it cannot go anymore and always give it the best maintenance. If she can no longer go, I will get another one, probably a 2007, with low mileage. These cars are built so well there is no need to buy a brand new one.

Best Car I've Ever Owned

Just turned 110K now. I've changed oil every 5K, air filter every 15k, and changed transmission fluid at 105K and the old fluid still looked fine. I've gone thru 2 sets of tires. I see no reason why this girl won't be around for at least 300K.
