My 2004 Arctic Frost Pearl Solara with Ivory Leather interior is great. The exterior/interior is totally different from the previous model, the new model is luxury and old model is sporty. GOOD DEAL on the the new body style!!!!! The drive is great: smooth & quiet. This car is definitely for a LADY!

Have had the car about a month. Well done...sporty and stylish...looks much better than the regular Camry's. Only two things we've noticed so far are: 1- a bit of hesitation when you accelerate, and 2- Gear shift seems to be getting rough when moving from Park to Reverse...we'll have to wait and see if worsens. Overall, very satisfied and feel like we've bought something reliable and sporty

I had a 2000 Solara prior to my SLE 2004. The improvements in design, both performance wise, and styling wise are amazing. I too feel a slight pull to the left, but nothing too major. I am impressed with the comfort inside. It handles well and is a true joy to drive. It has smooth quiet acceleration and is getting great gas mileage. I have never enjoyed a car I have owned more.

The car is what I expected. Great fuel economy in a larger car. (32+ MPG on regular) My dealer really tries to be perfect. I paid 18,700 and for that price I feel I have a great value.

I must have gotten lucky when I purchased a Solara back in early 2004. The car never gave me any problems and lasted all these years. Toyota builds them to last. 16 years and 179200 miles later, the proof is in the pudding on this one. Goodbye my dear Solara, you lasted and served your purpose well for all those years. Time to move on to a bigger vehicle.

This is a beautiful car, outstanding quality, beautiful interior, and quiet as a kitten. The JBL sound system is superb. It handles beautifully and is a blast to drive. Many have asked if it were a Lexus. All things considered, it's the best car I have ever owned.

Learning that the new Solara was a new model and built in America kind of worried me.I said to myself what could go wrong? It's a Toyota and it's new. I bought mine at Toyota North Hollywood and after 400 miles on it, there was a problem with the car's allignment.I took it back to the dealer and it took them the whole day to find out that it's "toe" went out.Whatever that means.I had to take it back next day early in the morning to have them disassembled the car and fix whatever the problem they stated. The service manager even stated that it's a first year model and one should expect problems.

I've been researching a new car for about 6 months now, and finally decided it was time to migrate out of my 2000 Toyota Celica GT-S to something a bit more easy on the bones for long distance trips. I thought I was going to have to compromise my love of coupes and go to 4dr sedan to get this, but fortunately the restyled Solara caught my attention while waiting at the dealership for an oilchange. If your looking for a comfortable coupe that plays to your desires for luxury appointments at a reasonable price, the Solara might be for you. I enjoy the ride quality better than my mom's 2003 Honda Accord EX.

First of all, owning the new bodystyle solara has been a quite big difference than the other mid-size cars I'm typically use to. It's built stronger and rides much better than other cars in its price range, but the horsepower needs much improvements for its price. The car is beautiful once you add the right rims to it, but otherwise boring looking without them. The car furthermore caters to an older (30-40) traditional type driver verses a younger more enthusiatic sports tuned driver. On a whole, the car is very nice to drive and has a lot of room to offer for a family of five to fit comfortably without any cramping in the back.

I've never even heard of a Solar a. I was car shopping and ran into this 2004 Solara with onlu 135,000 on it. When I first seen it I didn't lnow what to think. I've never seen one up close. I fell in love with it in about 5 minutes. There's something about a Solara that really gets you. The powerful engine, the way ot looks, the way it handles. It's just a one of a kind. I will always drive one of these now. This is my most favorite car ive ever owned by far. Amazing car!!!

There really isn't anything that I don't like about the car. The only problem I have had is a paint chip on the hood of the car, didn't think that should have happened, but the winter weather takes its toll on cars. Dealership is great to deal with and the performance of the car is good. I love driving it!

I have had my Solara for 2 years and I still love it. I am impressed with the look, comfort, and speed of the car. It has great pick-up and the sequential shift is helpful on the freeway. For someone who wants a car that will handle any condition, this is it. Everyone thinks this is a great looking car, and the "absolute red" surely helps give it even more of a sports-car look.

Bought my Solara as a Certified Used Vehicle. Upgraded to full-coverage 100,000-mile warranty for cheap! It has been a dream so far. It is the perfect combination of class, refinement, sportiness, and luxury. Considered Accord Coupe, but the Accord's ride is harsh and the interior unrefined. The Solara's handling and performance are far better than expected for such a large, smooth car. It's not intended to be a sportscar. It is, however, a great year-round vehicle to please even a car enthusiast when the true sportscars are in the garage.

I bought a Toyota after only owning Hondas figuring they would be about the same in quality. I was wrong. Since buying this car in December of 03 I have experienced many small problems.First the rear speaker deck rattles at the slightest hint of bass (music or or talk radio).Second the car has small rattlings throughout the cabin.Third the manual transmision is loud, notchy and at times very hard to shift.Fourth the AC fan has a highpitched chirping sound comming from it which means another trip to the horrible dealer to complain. Finally the dealer has been no help in resolving any of the above mentioned issues. Will not buy Toyota again:)

After comparing and test drive quite a number of cars in the price range, Solara turns out my ultimate winner. At this time approx. 2months / ~3kmi drive, I found the car is just well beyond my original expectation; the car is so well built, endless safety features. Extremly quiet, great rigit body and well integartion; no rattle, no squeak. Overal, it just a superior car for the price (even thousands more).

This is a great car! I've had 4 Toyotas; 2 were Camrys, 1 Avalon and now this Camry Solara. It's fun to drive and I love the new style. I have the fully loaded SLE V6 Fire Engine Red and I love it. I didn't think I would like, or use, the navigation system but it is very useful and I will have it on future cars. I find myself trying to find the quickest route, thus saving on gas. I drive 40 miles to work, roundtrip, and I get about 25 mpg. I do have one complaint. The tires that were originally with the vehicle were listed as warranteed for 6 years/100,000K but only lasted for 18K. My husband balances and rotates every 5K. Our Toyota dealer did replace them though with 4 new tires.

This automobile has been outstanding since the first day. My wife and I have owned eight or so Toyotas and they have all been very reliable and of high quality. This one however, exceeds all previous autos. It,s a hoot to drive, has power to spare and looks like a design for the future (not some outdated style from the last ten years). Great value for the money. Go test drive one!

I really like it. I too had a tire problem, but my dealer was prompt about resetting it, and told me how as well, fun to drive. I still havent finished getting compliments from friends and strangers, people love the intertior lights too, and i like the halogens!! I havent decided if night driving is better than daytime. Handles awesome with sport suspension, car is stable and easily to control around corners, before i bought it testing it, i drove a matrix, and then i drove this, there was such a huge difference in handling and acceleration, i would recommend a 6 cylinder, but 4 isnt bad

The relationship between the Camry and the Solara is a lot like the whole Clark Kent/Superman setup. For example, no one would suspect that the mild-mannered Camry sedan (a splendid example of automotive perfection in its own right) and the Solara, with its slick styling, beefy V6, and road-hugging 17 inchers, are one and the same. The truth is that this is about as close to a Lexus as you can get without actually getting one. Interior materials are of the highest quality, and for a Toyota, that's REALLY saying something.

Drove this Solara to Reno from Sacramento, the power is awesome; flattens the grades, no problem. Has more power than my '99 Solara, before I added the TRD Supercharger, also corners better. Seems like it has a different, tighter suspension. Mileage was 27mpg for first trip, but I was pushing/testing it from time to time. My '99 gave 29-30mpg on same trip w/supercharger. Can't wait for TRD to add the SC to this engine.

The 2004 Solara has style, smooth engine and transmission, and nice interior, its a well balanced car. I was looking at the G35 sports Coupe and I'm glad I waited. The first day I had the car four teenagers saw me and gave me the thumbs up. How about that for a compliment? A few days later I had my car parked next to a Lexus SC and the Solara looks like a bigger version. The Solara is not a sports car but it does give you that Lexus ride. With that Toyota reliability the 2004 Solara should do well. I got the feeling. This is my 6th Toyota my last car being a 2000 Avalon XLS.

I purchased this car used from a private party and, with its low mileage, low profile tires and after-market rims, I fell in love with it at first sight. I'm still in love with its manual transmission, plush ride and still-in-style good looks after five years of care-free driving. My car has been problem free. It's very comfortable and has a sporty feel to it. The lines are great. I have the 6 cd stereo and it has wonderful surround sound. The car just feels like quality when you're in it. I had a 1991 Celica for 13 years and loved it. I still miss the sports car (low to the ground) feel but this car is much more comfortable. The only downside that I see is the few blind spots. These are due to the small window in the back It looks great though and you just use the mirrors:) Definately recommend this car!

I purchased my new 2004 Solara one week ago, and so far I love it. The car has has excellent design inside an out. I just traded a Mercedes Benz ML430 SUV, and I can appreciate the improvement in gas mileage. This car is flawless. The engine is very responsive and powerful, and the transmission shifts gears smoothly and quietly. The interior is comfortable, and the SLE with navigation system has the same features I had in the Mercedes. Definitely a fun car to drive with plenty of good looks. The car could use better visibility through the rear window and power seats that allow easy entry for rear passengers.

Over all I would give my Solara SE V6 a low grade because of it's very much like a turbo engine. A friend of mine is a Toyota mechanic and he explained why there is so much excelleration delay similiar to a turbo engine. For this review, I'm only referring to low speed performance. At highway speeds it is more than adequate. I think it is unsafe, because when you need instant excelleration, it's just not there. I have owned a manual turbo engine car before and it was very responsive from low end to high end speeds. Would I buy another Solara? NO! Another problem I found is that the brakes are to spungy. I don't get that positive feedback from the brake pedal.

The car is nice to look at but the 5A trans. refuses to down shift except for flooring it and even then you have to wonder if its going too. The interior rattles more than it should. The steering is very "numb" and should be more like a Honda.

Beautiful, nice handling, plenty of power except for pea headed power hungry males( I am a male). Rear view through mirrors is absolutely miserable- and head restraints are supposedly not removable. Would call the car a lemon design because of the latter. Not safe. The insurance institutes will figure that out quickly. The company has not responded to my rquests for info on changing the rear seats.

After the leaky roof was fixed two times and I still have to fix the hesitation with excelleration, it's an okay car. The 'tires for life' deal is a scam since it requires oil changes every 3,500 miles or the warranty is voided. The car looks great, but I want more than "a looker" to keep me happy.

Pros: My 2004 still turns heads on occassion, excellent interior, big trunk, good road manners, average 33 Mpg on the highway with conservative driving. Have had a left drift problem (spring seat displaced, dealer fixed) and replaced a tie rod. The original Bridgestone tires were trash, only lasted 25,000 miles. We have used our Solara very hard, excellently engineered and easy to live with. Not a sports car, but a sporty car.
