Good but not perfect...updated
Update: After getting over 50 mpg all summer long, my mpg has dropped to 38 this fall. Toyota tried to tell me that this was due to the cold weather. But in a heatwave to 85 degrees the mileage didn’t go back up. It is also partially due to the winter gas but that should be no more than 10%z This is my 3rd Toyota hybrid. They will drop by a couple mpg’s when it is cold and a good 5-6 mpg’s below zero, but not by 12 mpgs with slightly cooler fall weather. I wasn’t born yesterday. Toyota’s service is consistently terrible outside of routine maintenance. They train their service advisors to handle the customers and upsell tires and maintenance packages, not to solve problems. This is a once great company where finance now rules. I track my mileage both by dash mpg meter and by odometer mileage and actual gallons. Car has been reliable but handles poorly. I won’t buy again. I got the LE because I wanted the Lithium battery. It is a good car but has some design flaws. First, the Blind Spot Monitor on the driver’s side does not come on until the car is IN my blindspot. Very different (and worthless)than my Lexus and Mercedes where it comes on a bit before the car is on my bumper. Dealer says “works as designed.” Second, the white noise that warns pedestrians when in Hybrid mode is unpleasant. I wish it was more a whisper and less a whine. Third, there is a little rough spot on the back/top of the steering wheel from where the plastic was injected into the mold. Dealer says “They all have it.” Seriously? Update 5/21mileage in warm wearing back up to 48-49 miles per gallon. But they need to tell people in the sales process. Tesla does! I am looking at a Tesla and they said “Your range will drop by as much as 30% in the Minnesota winter.” What a difference in the sales process!!! They came out and told me w/o me even asking!!! Toyota? It’s somewhere in the fine print.
Do not have dealer try to add more safety features
Dealer cannot add additional safety features like blind spot monitor or rear cross traffic monitor because computer cannot be modified after factory I expensively. Dealer tried to add an aftermarket blind spot monitor that performed badly.

Best family sedan on the market
I bought the upgraded (2.5 L) 2018, Camry Hybrid on the advice of Consumer Reports and consider it one of my best buying decisions in over 60 years of car ownership. It is comfortable, has adequate power for urban traffic, and comes standard with most safety features except rear cross traffic warning and blind side warning. Although not luxurious by Lexus standards it has quality durable interior. Best of all it is convenient and spacious with dual climate controls compared to my 2004 Accord. Also appreciate the naturally aspirated 2.5L engine as well as hybrid efficiency and I hope Toyota stays away from the regrettable move to turbocharged engines of the other Japanese Manufacturers. A year and a half later, I still standby most of the claims I made here. The odometer reads about 16,000 miles and the only expenses have been besides the much smaller gasoline expenses of a hybrid vehicle, costs of regular maintainence, and a replacement of windshield wipers.
Great technology; poor seat design
I eliminated this car based on how uncomfortable the seat is. I can't figure out why anyone would want to spend so much time in such an uncomfortable car. They can produce such a great car, but can't make a comfortable seat. Doesn't make sense. I drive a currently drive a comparable car by another manufacturer and it has a very comfortable seat so I know it is possible.

Much more than we expected
We have now sold the 2018 Camry and bought a new 2025 Camry. Really sad to part with the 2018. It was just about as perfect a car as I could have asked for. After over six years of ownership, I can still say this is the finest car I have owned. Everything worked like new and the mileage has not decreased at all. After 80,000 miles our average mileage is 47.8 mph, greatly exceeding our expectations. Everything about the Camry Hybrid exceeds our 2016 Prius, especially ride, road noise and roominess. It is about as good a car for the money as we could imagine. Acceleration is great and the features are what we needed.
