2025 Toyota bZ4X Consumer Reviews

Pros: Leased FWD Looks great to me, Just leased 1 wk ago, AWD gives you less mileage. As suggested by Kia & other dealers as well as friends. Leasing is The way to go for EV market. The EV market will change in 3 years as new models and technologies changes like computers, phones and TVs. I went by the deal in NJ. Drives same as NX 300 or RAV4 and space same. Cons: The mirrors don't fold for small garages, and no rear wipers, which I don't like. The battery life small or less.

Very Dissapointed
The BZ looks very cool and handles well. Acceleration was crisp and braking was solid. The screen is very nice size. We have had several Rav4s and the BZ4X cannot even come close to the quality of our current RAV4. They made everything as thin as possible to cut weight, even the door handles feel cheap. Closing the doors sound cheap and the seats are thinner that our current car. Range is very low for a vehicle that size. The ride was stiff and a lot of road noise. The unit we drove was a Limited, but the interior was very lackluster, nothing special at all. After our test drive we felt our Rav was a much more substantial vehicle and would not consider buying or recommending the BZ.

Don’t Purchase (if I could give no stars I would)
Charge time is triple to 4x advertised time frame (manufacturer “advertised is ideal conditions” & “read the fine print”) Range - apparently after spending all this money on a vehicle the expectation is you can’t use any options I.e. heat, AC. Radio etc. It was a nightmare with this car for the year I had it and best part the minute you drive off the lot you lose half of the money you paid for it. So disappointed in the dealership and more importantly the manufacturer

Bzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!
I've only had it a week and love love love it, Got the limited because I dont do hub caps, no more gas, all that money goes back into my pocket - thank you very much and feels even better driving than the Toyota Venza I had for 15 yrs, plenty of room for the kids going here and there, good covered cargo area for the clubs, easy peasy level 2 charging from home, and toyota quality. Kind of no brainer for this non-tech savvy Gen Xer. The display and the connectivity are impressive and easy to navigate, and did I mention JBL sound?

Terrible road tripper.. Otherwise Good Manners
Getting right to the chase of any EV, I've now leased a 2024 AWD version for 7 months and can tell you it's an ok car for around town, but don't think it works for long road trips. As noted in the Edmunds review, it has low range (225 miles in the summer), low charging speed (Max 100kw and only seen that less than a handful of times) and lastly, a lowly characteristic that not even Edmunds notes, Toyota has imposed a 3-a-day max CCS1 charging visit on this car. That completely rules it incapable of being used for long road trips. All else works fine in this car.
