BEWARE/CAUTION 2020 Avalon Hybrid design defect.
I bought a new 2020 Avalon Hybrid Limited in Sept, 2020. Within a couple weeks I went to wash the windshield. I lifted the passenger side wiper and it stood up as designed. I walked to the drivers side and attempted to lift it but it was obstructed by the hood. If you try to muscle it, it is doomed to break and or the hood will dent, it will only lift an inch before hitting the hood. Called the dealership, they were perplexed and reached out to corporate. I reached out to corporate and they had me document it with the dealership again. The dealership wrote it up and escalated it to Corporate per their protocol. I was contacted by Corporate (Khari) and he wouldn't admit it was a design flaw, he said it was designed properly but couldn't explain to me why it wouldn't be designed to lift? One guy at the dealership quipped, "all you have to do is open the hood first then lift the wiper", like the detail shop or car wash people will know to do that first before they break it off. After getting no where with Corporate, I filed a Lemon Law complaint with them to get my money back, I am not holding my breath and I certainly didn't pay over 40k to open my hood before I can lift my wiper. STAY AWAY or at least BEWARE of the 2020 Avalon and Corporate customer service sucked, two months already. Two days in a row they scheduled a call in the morning and both days they called during dinner and left a message to call them back. That is a 20 minute debacle to get the case manager each time. Going back to Ford, I am sure they make a Hybrid. Should have known not to buy something that didn't have USA on it. I am sure their Founder's Grandson Akio Toyoda is proud of this design? MAGA

Not your grandpa’s Avalon.
This is not a performance car by any means with only 300 HP but it has plenty of power and handles great.

2020 Avalon
Headrests are producing neck pain and tension due to extreme forward angle. Gas mileage is very bad. the 2020 model does not have a rear window shade as my 2016 Avalon did, which in Florida is very nice to keep the sun's rays from heating up the interior. Too many bells and whistles which I feel are not necessary. My 2016 which was totaled when a driver ran a stop sign and hit me broadside. Wish I had looked for some other make/model, probably a Honda.
