I started out with safety as no.1 but the QUIET of the vehicle and the handling are far superior to my wife's Honda Accord. Of course Toyota's reliability reputation doesn't hurt either. What a great vehicle.

Near perfect vehicle. Used it on some tough jeep roads in colorado. Has one flaw - needs overdrive badly.

I researched all the SUVs in this class and the 4Runner is the BEST. The 4 Runner has around for 20+ years and people are still driving their old ones. A good thing is that most are repeat owners. The quality, price, and amenities are awesome. I love it.

We get 22-23 MPG on highway driving and 19 in city. Ride is a little stiff but you expect that in a SUV. We have had only one minor problem and that was the low tire pressure light. It was fixed on the first visit to service. My wife loves the way the seats fit her back. My only problem is I have to duck my head to enter the front seats. I am 6 feet tall.

This is without a doubt one of the best vehicles made in the world regardless of price. Fit and finish of my new 4 Runner is almost flawless. I recommend the X-REAS Sport Enhancement Suspension. Creature comforts abound in this vehicle. Get the V8 which is awesome if you're not worried about mileage. It’s a smooth rush of power through the entire power curve! Hard to believe this SUV weighs almost 4500 lbs. I recently drove in about 18 inches of fresh snow and my 4 Runner never breathed hard. It’s as quite as any Lexus or BMW sedan I’ve ever owned. It has that German feel to the entire vehicle but fortunately has Toyota’s legendary reliability. I could not be happier with my new 2005 LTD
