Tesla is horrible at putting these cars panels together! My car was delivered and has a power trunk. When I got home I went to open the trunk. As it opened, it would immediately slam shut. After inspecting it, I saw that the trunk lid was not installed properly and there were paint shavings on my car. It had been scraping against the panel next to it and took the paint off both edges. There is zero customer support on this. I took it to a service shop and they fixed the trunk, but only applied a little touch up paint which came off on my first car wash. There is no one to call and no resources to get help or any kind of customer loyalty department. Now I am stuck with a car that was delivered imperfect for $72,000

Best car EVer!!!
Tesla is fabulous at putting these cars together! My car was delivered with very little human intervention. The online shopping was easy, I could make changes and get an instant price and delivery date. When I saved a configuration for later I would get an email confirmation and a person to call if I had questions. When I finally clicked “buy now” all the paperwork was done online, title, financing, insurance, etc. The hardest part was having to go to CARMAX to get my trade in inspection. Customer support is super! Four months after purchasing my windshield was cracked by road debris. I taped “service” and soon had a Road Ranger , scheduled to replace it at my work. There is someone to call 24/7 and get instant help and resources for any kind of customer issue.

Lousy service
Car rides well but unfortunately the Tesla service is severely lacking. No one answers the phone,it takes them days to return an email, and weeks to schedule a service call. the sales person who sold me the car misinformed me about the 5 k Rebate which I subsequently lost. My advice is to buy a car which has a dealership behind it, who will try to make you happy. The Tesla service staff make no effort to help you and will make you very frustrated.

Unlike anything else (in a good way)
Boy I could go on for a long time about this car but I'm afraid I would hit a character limit. Tech is one of the areas where this car shines. The easiest way to describe it as that they made a car that works as well as your smartphone. Not to mention, the smartphone integration is absolutely phenomenal. A beautiful and easy to use interface. The tech is also the area where they fall. I think it falls into a category of "tech for the sake of tech" where many times it offers a "cool factor" but no actual practical advantage, and is often much worse than it's analog counterparts. One of those areas is that there are almost no physical buttons. A simple dial for the a/c would a very simple addition that could be used while driving without taking your eyes off the road. There are no buttons to adjust wiper speed or to adjust the headlights. In a normal car with automatic headlights they would integrate a simple rain sensor. Tesla forgoes this in favor of a camera-based system that is objectively inferior and will occasionally wipe on a bone dry windshield. Same goes for the headlights. They will turn on in broad daylight. If they were able to do this well, it would be a non-issue but unfortunately they do not. The RWD option is amazing, and something you won't find on other EVs. This allows for better traction when accelerating without switching to tires that ruin your efficiency (which is paramount in EVs). The RWD model is not super fast, but it is VERY peppy and accelerates at a speed that would meet "hot hatch" territory. Enough to navigate traffic, not enough to win any races. The handling is also further helped by the RWD architecture. It is "sporty" but again won't be competing with any truly race-inspired sports cars. It is EXTREMELY comfortable, at least in front. The low and sporty nature won't be a good match for some but for those agile folks, it gives a sporty ride and feel (but not too firm).

Not just a car - It's the Tesla experience
It's good to see that the "traditional" automakers are finally admitting the future is EVs. I could go through all the pros and cons of different features of my Tesla Model 3, but that would be missing the point. Traditional automakers introducing new EVs are innovating inside the box (dealerships, inventory, legacy pricing model, reliance on service revenues, etc). Tesla doesn't believe there is a box. So every interaction is refreshing - from ordering online, low fixed pricing (because there's no sales people, dealerships, or inventory to carry), and periodic software updates with new features. Let me give you an example of what I mean. Recently I needed a minor repair. The entire interaction from scheduling, to paying, to talking to the technician was all online. The service technician came to my office and fixed the car in the parking lot. I was able to communicate directly with him to answer any questions. That's what I mean by innovating without a box. I didn't have to drop my car off, wait for other people who were ahead of me, talk to a service representative, etc. I went to work like always and when I got back in my car to go home, it was fixed. Here's one last example. This week a woman ran a stop sign at an intersection and hit the driver side of my car. My car spun around and all the side airbags deployed. Shortly after I got out of my car, my phone rang. It was Tesla calling to make sure I was alright and if I needed them to do anything. The next day, I uploaded to my insurance company the video from the car's cameras which had captured the entire accident. They immediately agreed it was the other driver's fault. And by the way, the car took the impact well and I walked away with no injuries. Now I know why Tesla owners love Tesla. Over the past year I have gone from loving my car to really appreciating the full Tesla experience.
