Shop around and carefully build your options. There are many offered and can be confusing. The Outback is a super safe, well made vehicle.

Owned since 2020 and here are a few observations. Battery drain was a huge issue because of Starlink. This was finally corrected not by dealer but by a hack found on a Subaru forum. The doors seem so light that when they are shut it sounds like a tin can. Rear rotors replaced before 70000 miles super difficult to replace. Being handy the engine is not all that easy to work on your self. Spark plug replacement is insane for the DIY person. Also leather has started to split on driver bolster. I know other owners have complained about the quality of the leather. Quality is very disappointing. Overall mpg are good. The factory rubber mats front and back are very helpful to have.

The Outback is a great car fo older drivers with a higher entrance and adjustable seat. Kids love the roomy back seat, and parents love the large rear area for groceries, baggage, and loading things from trash bags to furniture.
