We have had our scion XA for almost a year. We have totally loved it. A random stranger at a stop light rolled down her window to tell me how much she loved the car. We have driven it all over the west coast. There haven't been any problems whatsoever.

Former owner of a V8 Durango gas- guzzler. The Scion xA is a sacrifice in power, but the excellent fit and finish of the interior, ease of handling, and superior gas mileage make this car a best-buy in my book. The style is eye-catching. Expect to answer questions at the gas pump (which is once every 3 weeks for this city driver). Regardless of the small 4cyl engine, there is still remarkable pick- up and sturdy poise in accelleration in highway driving, even through hilly terrain. The car maintains 80mph on the highway without a shake. Seats are firm and supportive. xA has a fantastic view of the road with a nice, high stance.

I purchased my Scion Xa in July of 2004. The interior design, where speedometer and all is placed, has reduced nighttime driving glare, resulting in less eye strain. After 40,000 miles, I have had to spend only $30 in maintanance. My highway mileage has reached up to 42 mpg. The stock stereo is better then most premium stereos.

For those of you out there who want something more interesting than a Toyota or Honda, more reliable than a Mini or Volkswagon and less expensive than a Mazda3 - consider this little hatchback. In northern CA it was tough to locate b/c they're in such high demand. Word of advice - if your local dealer doesn't have one, call other dealers in the area (we called a total of 5) since the salesmen aren't keen on giving up inventory availability. In summary: gas/brake pedals are very responsive, quick accelleration, fits into smallest parking spaces, no fuss buying experience, great gas mileage, great way to zip around

Surprising comfort and flexibility. I went from a Honda Accord to the Scion xA. I drive into a crowded city everyday and it is much easier to park and maneuver. GReat milage. The only down I have found, the seat fabric stains easily.

From the moment I got behind the wheel of my Scion I have had nothing less then a blast. I was amazed at how easy it was to drive and the get up and go in it was amazing. I can park it anywhere and not worry about weither it will be a tight fit or not. It's got personality not just another set of wheels on the road.

I drive this car 70 miles round trip three times a week commuting to work. She has also taken me and one or two passengers on trips of up to 1000 miles a time or two. I average 36 MPG, but occasionally get over 40. There is nothing to dislike about "Jolene" She gets all scheduled maintenance and I have had absolutely no problems with her. She's on the original battery and still starts right up unless I forget the headlights. Even then a jump and 5 minutes run time is enough to "rejuice" her. She's small, so changing a flat is almost easy. Her pick up is sufficient and she has absolutely NO problems holding her own on the highway with the big boys. She does not act like a little car.

This was my 1st new car and it was worth every penny. I put about 15thou/miles per year and it's still going strong w/just regular maintenance. The only major cost has been new tires at 40,000 and tune up at 30 and 60thou-miles. Hope to still have it when it gets to 120.

Purchased 2 weeks ago with 16.5 k miles. The first 2 days the ride was hard; lowered the tire pressure to 29 and it improved. Love sitting up high; I have a bad back and this car sits like a small SUV. Very nimble and a great grocery getter. It is O.K. on the highway for perhaps a half day ride; it isn't a cross country vehicle. In town it is delightful if a bit stiff. It does not like pavement imperfections. I expect to keep it for many years. Everyone says it is cute. Good car for 1-2 people; the back seat is small. Good legroom up front. Easy to park. Oh, I am six feet, 200 pounds, and have gray hair.

The Scion xA really surprised me. I was originally looking at the Mini Cooper (for fuel economy and style), but since I'm starting a family I decided to check out four door cars. After seeing what this car had to offer for such a low price, it was the clear winner. My brother purchased an xB shortly before I bought my xA, and they weighed heavily on my decision. We're both extremely satisfied with our purchases. The xA is deceivingly roomy inside. I drive about 90 miles per day (round trip), so the fuel economy was the biggest selling point for me. The interior size, sporty styling, and spirited ride are just icing on the cake.

This car is not a hybrid, but does get a wopping 40 miles to the gallon! It's design is a cross between a Mini Cooper & a Toyota Matrix. The torque is weak for the first few hundred miles and then it seems to warm up to your style of driving, i.e. mine picks up and gets going a lot faster now than it did in it's first 500 miles. Standard auto windows and cd player are great! Back seat folds down and makes for lots of room to transport larger items. I am very happy with my purchase.

I have had my Xa for three months now and I love it. I bought it as a commuter car and am very happy with its overall performance. I have the 5 speed, which I've found to have adequate acceleration to merge with traffic (which was a concern of mine before buying). It is high enough off of the ground that I don't feel overpowered by other vehicles, and when the back seats are folded down it has a remarkable amount of space for such a small car. I would highly recommend this car to anyone looking for a fun, inexpensive, economical car.

This car is my first car, it was bought as a gift and I absolutely love it. Prospective buyers can go online and build the car exactly how you want it from the ground up. It's really fun to drive, has a nice sound system and it's fuel efficient(for the folks looking for their kids). An added bonus is that you don't see many of them out there, so you're almost like one of a kind. I got mine in the black cherry pearl and it's real tough. So if you're thinking about getting one you should. I did and I love mine.

Really cute car, great styling. Still enjoy looking at after 7K. The 17" sports wheels look fantastic but make for a rougher ride. Seat comfort ok for up to an hour. Handles road well and feels safe, sporty, and fun. Great radio/CD. Often (daily) there are multiple rattles AND a buzzing around the speedometer (when it is cold) that gets very loud (competes with radio at 40!)--makes me want to walk away from it. Dealer can't hear rattles consistently enough to fix...ahhhh! Very dissappointed in the mpg--the best I have ever gotten is once 31 on a 3-hr freeway drive. More typical 27-29 hwy. (What happened to 37 hwy?) After market sunroofs I've seen better quality mine (factory).

Was pleasantly surprised with all the standard features for such a low price plus the excellent gas mileage. CD, power windows, power mirror, interior lights that shut-off after closing the door, etc. Advertised at 32/37 mpg and actually getting combined of 36.5 mpg. Enjoy the somewhat unique exterior styling, similar to a Matrix. Who wants a Honda or VW they all have the same bland styling. Again, for 13K can't beat it.

I'd never even heard of Scion until I read a review of the xA in a local paper. Looking to trim my gas bill a bit (was driving Explorer Sport Trac), I ventured in and test drove the xA RS 1.0 they had on the lot... and immediately, it had to be mine. You sit very high in this little car so I don't feel intimidated at all. It is very peppy and fun to drive. Outstanding handling from a car in the price range. Loaded with standard features that are optional add-ons in similar classed vehicles. I recommend Scion now to any who ask about it... and every does!

My wife saw this Absolutely Red Special Addition Scion on the dealer's floor, test drove a like model and bought the RED one. It's Special Editon #3. She loves it! She is stopped in parking lots by admiring young men and women inquiring about the styling, performance and handling. She enjoys the interior finish, the handling characteristics (It is a lot easier to park than her Mercedes Benz SLK) and it has plenty of room for three adult lady friends and all of their Christmas shopping! I am pleased about the purchase price and the mileage. Sounds like a Toyota ad? The surprise is that we are both Senior Citizens and this little Red Rocket is Fun to Drive! Try one!

I thoroughly researched before buying this car, and fell in love with it after I bought it. I was impressed with the attention paid to details- side turn signals, pwr steering, mirrors, good headlights, a commanding view of the road, & a well-contoured front seatback. It really set it apart from the 3 Geo Metros I had previously owned, & the Chev Aveo I drove. I've put 73k miles on it, with only routine maint - tires, brakes, plugs & engine fluids replaced. The A/C hasn't failed despite the MN temp extremes, and it's ALWAYS started too. Engine has good pep on freeway if ya press the overdrive OFF button, & has good mileage-approx 31mpg overall. Has very flexible interior-can haul alot.

I've only had this car for a few months, but so far I love it. I drive hard, I average about 75-80 mph on the highway and I'm quick off the lights in town, and I'm getting an average MPG of 32 between city and highway. It's fun to drive and relativity quick. I have noticed when the temp gets down around 0 f. it needs the heater on full most of the time to stay warm inside so if you live in an area where that temp is typical, you'll want to consider that. But even on the coldest mornings it has no trouble starting up. The sound system in mine is real nise as well, good solid bass and clear highs with great volume for a stock unit. I have no problem recomending this car!

We bought a Scion xA for my husband before they were even released in our state - had to go to another state to get it. We love it. He travels alot for work and averages 33-35 miles per gallon. We have even taken it on family trips through the mountains - although it was not as comfortable for our two teenagers in back, we did fine. Would love to get one for each family member in different colors.

Just bought the XA about a week ago and am very impressed with the ride. I commute 44 mins one way and needed a reliable and economical car and the XA was everything I needed. The XA has power everything and the 5 speed manual does great on the hills. It's a comfortable ride and has the Toyota reliability emanating from it. It handles well on curves and is pretty quiet (I almost stalled it twice because I kept on thinking it was an automatic due to the quiet engine!). Plenty of room, where I can put 3 car seats in the back if I needed to. I like all the aftermarket parts I can put on it to make it personal. The only bad things is that it didn't have floor mats, cruise control, or armrest.

I've had this car for about 2 weeks, and I'm in love with it! It's my first car, and it's just what the doctor ordered. I waited to make the purchase, but I was lucky enough to get the RS 1.0 after dealing with 2 dealerships. The standard features are excellent, and the stereo is better than I could have ever imagined. The rides a little rough in spots, but it's not a Camry, right? And how can such a small car have so much room for me, passengers, and other stuff? Overall, this car is the best balance of features and price I have found.

I bought this to be a commuter car to and from work 70 miles a day and I have never regretted my decision. This is a great car. I have driven it long distance a couple of times and the ride is comfortable. You will be amazed on how much you can pack in the car 1,2, or none of the seats folded down. I already have put 88K on it, and look forward to the next 88K. I still love how small it is because it's so much easier and fun to weave thru traffic.

After 13 years of very reliable service my Tercel bit the dust so I went to my Toyota dealer to look at the Corolla. I need something to get me to work and back and pick up two kids with car seats from day care. The salesman recommended that I look at the Scion xA since I had a Tercel. I assumed it would be too small for the car seats but I was wrong. They fit in the back seat easily. The hatchback design makes for enough room in the back to store a fair amount of stuff. The car is very fun to drive. The milage is great. Aside from the few suggested improvements listed below the car is awesome for the price and I am very, very happy I bought a Scion XA.

This car can turn on a dime! Power transmission and small wheelbase. Get the manual- it has decent pickup and reviewers say that the automatic is sluggish...I find that this manual is more powerful and responsive than the 91 Honda civic htchbck manual that I used to have... Seats are very comfortable, car sits up higher than Hondas do. A mountain bike and drumset will fit in the back with the seats down; however, 4 bags of groceries and you have to put the seats down! Speedometer is located in a bad spot (center) have to look away from the road to see it.

I am a 19 year old female who bought this car new. It's not expensive and it gets great gas mileage. I love it. I added a lot of options to mine so it ended up being around $21,000 but they start at around $13,000. It just really depends what you want.

This is by far the best vehicle on the market for the money! The build quality of Toyota, and all the "options" that come standard in this car set it apart from autos costing $10,000. more

Pro: cheap, stylish. Cons: underpower, no armrest, no cruise control This car is a very good economy car, @ around 14K it has power everything, plus an MP3 deck, and pionner speaker system, antilock brake, and the list goes on, it is very sporty looking, at this price range you won't find any other car that can offer the same amount of equipment, from the corolla to the civic. the design of the car looks nice and easy to use. The car is seriously under power, @ a mare 100HP it's a joke, but the little thing generate the same amount of power as a civic or a corolla, the MPG is a joke, on the highway the engine takes alot to get up to speed and that hinder the MPG. the tC is better IMO.
