Used 2006 Saturn VUE 4dr SUV AWD (3.5L 6cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
My First Saturn
It is not super small or super big. It tows 3000 lbs without effort. The ride is quiet and not harsh. It gets me to my fishing spots. The only complaint the window switches could be better placed other than around shifter. We love it more than the other GM models based on the same platform. We looked at the Ford Escape, Rav4, CRV, Liberity, and Element. This was the best around package for my wife and I.
Saturn VUE Redline
Good $20k crossover. Base models feel floaty on the freeway, and handling does not inspire confidence. Upgrading to the Redline solves those problems, along with giving a better look and interior. The Honda v6 in these is great, and move this vehicle along nicely. Don't spend the money for the AWD version unless you have to.

Nice but needs improvement
Have small problems such as windshield washer fluid leakage. Antifreeze leakage. Rear brakes need to be turned at 20,000 miles. Rattle noise from engine compartment. Rubber moulding around rear doors becomes detached easily. Larger problem with replacement of trans-axle at 21,000 miles. Vehicle rides hard and expect to replace struts and shocks by 25,000 miles.
Bad gas mileage
I like the car, but the gas mileage is terrible. I calculate it every time I fill up and get around 14 mpg. My husband's V8 Dodge Ram does better than that. Had I known the gas mileage would be so bad I definitely would not have purchased car!

This is my 3rd Saturn and I think my last. Was disappointed that you get only a 16inch donut for a spare so if you are towing it and get a flat on the front you have to move the tire to the back and bring one of the rear tires to the front . Also to get a base plate for towing a piece has to be cut out of the bumper.
