Not a bad van for its time
We also had to have our head gasket replaced at about 70,000 miles. This was very disappointing! Luckily I caught it about 3 weeks before my extended warranty expired. Other than this major problem, the only other issues we've had are trim pieces breaking and dealing with squeaks and general fit-n-finish problems. The display of our radio just went out about a month ago. In all this vehicle was good in 1998; however, there are MUCH better choices available now. An updated model is due soon, but it's basically the same van with only a few minor tweaks. It's not a new design. Check out the competition 1st. Rebates aren't everything.
transsport report
Bought it new , has been a good car, 65000 miles replaced brakes, tires,
Wish it could last forever
Purchased used with 45,000 miles on it. Dealer included new tires. Just replaced those in summer of 2006. Only other replacement was battery after 4 years(still factory issue). The only problems have been with the rear shocks. Replaced both due to clamp failure. Great gas mileage. Great ride. Very dependable with loads of room. With rear seats out you have a covered truck. Can't imagine life without my van.
Can't wait to sell
Manifold repaired, electrical problems everywhere, interior heating and cooling does not work, engine light, air bag and abs sensor lights on, worst vehicle I have ever owned The handling however is the best I have had even over a Honda Civic Family owns a 2000 Montana - same problems so GM is not listening or caring
