Disappointing

Issues I have with this car: - Air conditioning will not turn off if the defroster is engaged. Dealer says it is normal. I say it is unacceptable. Trying to direct hot air to the windshield and the air conditioning won't shut off. Not acceptable. Switch to vent and you can turn off the cold. Send any air whatsoever to the windshield the the air conditioning comes back on full. - The headlights throw very little usable light. I live in a rural area, not in the city. There are no street lamps on the highways so I need the lights to actually work. PIAA bulbs made very little difference. If better bulbs don't fix it then it is a poor design. They are "bright" now, meaning they are offensive to oncoming traffic but they illuminate the road very poorly compared to other cars I have owned with just regular bulbs. Yes, they are properly aimed. - Engine started making a strange noise at about 60,000 kms. Dealer said intake manifold was cracked and had to be replaced under warranty. Warranty is now over and the noise is coming back. It will be costly to fix and who knows how long it will last. The last one lasted only 50,000 kms. - Seatbelt light will not go out. Dealer does not know why. Second and third dealers also do not know why. Pros: - It gets better fuel economy than advertised. I routinely get 5.8 on the highway at 100 kph. Rated at 6.3. - Roomy. Considering this is a small car the leg room and headroom for the driver are both better than you might expect from a small car. Not the back seat though. It is unusable for anyone other than small children if the front seats are adjusted for adult males.
