I have a Nissan Rogue 2012 SL-AWD. My car has less than 30k miles. I took the car to the dealership to find out that I need a new rear differential assembly for the price of $2,425.00. Please keep in mind I am two payments away from paying the car off. My car has never been in any car accidents or traumatized in any way. Considering the mileage and year of the car, this type of problem is unacceptable. I feel like I am being bamboozled. Nissan needs to make this a recall and do right by their customers.
That the CVT transmissions are junk. You can only buy rebuild kits through Nissan for $5400 parts only. Not including labor to remove and replace or rebuilding. Quotes through a private mechanic starts at $6300. Nissan has an abundant amount of re-manufactured transmissions for $3800 + labor. Makes one wonder if Nissan is trying to cover them selves for a civil suite following a recall.
Yes the engine drone is annoying and the CVT takes some getting used to, but overall I still love my 2012 Rogue. Reliability and overall value are outstanding. I recommend this vehicle to those looking for a comfortable, affordable, fun to drive SUV with plenty of room.
