Used 2017 Nissan Pathfinder SV 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl CVT) Consumer Reviews
Avoid - issues with the CVT Transmission
The CVT Transmission is flawed - Nissan has had issues with it from the start. If you dig into this you will also find out that due to the underlining design flaws of this transmission, there is no surefire way to prevent problems. So I would avoid this vehicle unless you enjoy working on transmissions.

A large ish roomy BUT not very good car
This car was purchased as a fleet sale w 22000 mile for a good price one year used. For most of its life it was reliable BUT the maintenance cost were quite high with frequent brake rebuild and several expensive unscheduled unexpected wear out items. Direct operating cost repair fuel maintenance came out to 38 c a mile which was 50 % higher than my Toyota Highlander (mpg similar MUCH Higher maintenance and repair cost nearly 9 K vs 2200 for the Toyota. Breaks avg 25000 mile vs 60000 for the same driver same roads. trans fluid ever 30,000 mile at 400 buck VS once at 125K for 125. Tre wear was double, etc. EXCEPT THE LAST Item which forced me to trade it in the technology never was the issue, just bad engineering . like 1500 for the computerized thermostat buried such that the engine needed to be lifted!. the death of the Infotainment with NO aftermarket support (one system available NO guarantees to fit and these ones uniformly (3 tries) did fix the radio which took out the screen the AC controls the emergency blinkers etc. Nissan wanted 7800 to fix ..the cars FMV at this state IF the system worked was only 5600 which I got for trade in for a new Lexus. This was my first Nissa and my last .I have had 2 Hondas and two Toyotas, I will not again drive a second rate vehicle.
