SUV looks but rides like a powerful sedan. Gas mileage is decent. Sunroof has preset open position. Roomy enough to hold my 3 kids in the back.

We just purchased this "truck" for my wife and have absolutely no complaints. The Murano replaces a VW Jetta, so we love all of the space, but the Murano does not feel huge. It is larger than the small utes like the CRV that we looked into, but not as much as the Pilot or 4Runner. It fits us perfectly. The interior is awesome and the exterior gets looks from almost every passer-by. So far, we couldn't be happier.

This one got me excited. It has been a really long time since I really HAD TO HAVE A CAR. I haven't had this much fun driving a vehicle since my very first car as a teenager! (approx 20yrs ago) SHhh. Anyway, as a soccer mom and a full time outside sales rep this SUV has got it all for me and I don't feel like an old ninny in a mini van. The sporty ride and appearance make's me feel GREAT. You must take a test drive. Have Fun! Live life young! p.s. the gas milage beats the standard suv by far!

This is a great suv and I really don't have anything bad to say about it. It's very sporty so it may not be for everyone, but its a heck of alot of fun to drive and its very roomy inside. Unlike what Edmunds says, the CVT transmission does not detract from any performance. I wonder if they really tested this model. I personally compared the performance to other Nissan cars with the 3.5 (Alitma & Maxima) and found that considering the weight difference it was about the same, but the CVT was alot smoother.

I bought this vehicle last May 2003. The performance has been absolutely great. It is easy to handle. Very confortable with the lumbar in the drivers seat. We have driven for at least 500 miles in one day and come off the trip feeling fine and not exhausted. It has not caused me a minute of worry. We have had it serviced several times with oil change and that is all that I have invested in one year except gas of course. I seem to get 24 miles to the gallon in city driving. The leather has held up great.

Love to drive this SUV. Responsive and good looking however it has become the most unreliable vehicle that I have ever owned. Bearing froze on idler pully causing it to fail, fly apart and damange engine components. Then transfer case for 4WD failed. Two tows in two consecutive months all with 22,000 miles. Add to this the air duct design flaw of being too close to the engine therefore always blowing warm air through the vehicle even when outside temperatures are 70 degrees. Also, when car has more than two people in it the ride feels as if there are no shock absorbors. Even with these deficiencies, I have recommended the car to others.

The Nissan Murano is the best mid-range crossover on the market. It is much too often overlooked. Unlike the Edmunds reviewer, we find it has plenty of power and the transmission is great. In recent snowstorms it performed better than we could have hoped for. On a long trip this summer, we were extremely comfortable and very happy with the gas mileage despite running the a/c constantly. We love the roomy seats you just don't get when there are 3 rows of seating. This is perfect size vehicle for empty nesters. The Bose sound system is awesome and the ride is smooth and quiet. For this price range, this beats all others we test drove.

I purchased this vehicle to replace my wife's Jeep Cherokee. She loved the styling. Compared to the truck like handling characteristics of the Jeep, the Nissan Murano is very smooth, with plenty of power. It handles very well on the highway, even in a heavy cross wind. Thus far we've only needed routine maintenance. There was nothing that needed to be fixed by the dealer after delivery.

I've had my Murano for 1 month and 6500 miles already. I spend most of my time driving, and must say this is the best choice out there for less money than lexus and acura. Gas mileage is 24 on interstate and 19 city! If you put it to the floor it will outrun most other cars. I fully shopped before making my decision, drive this before you buy any other SUV. Wish I had XM radio!!

Nicely styled, good instrumentation, the GPS system is exceptional. ONE BAD ITEM:The SAT XM radio was suppose to be part of my car audio package, but was NOT included, Nissan has refused to resolve this matter-even though 5 dealers said the would be included. NO XM. Otherwise a nice car overall! Comfortable seats, good driving visibility, mileage averages about 20,0 much better than most SUV's. CVT transmission has an unusual feel, however seems to work quite well. Handle well in the snow!

Only have 1,400 miles on new Murano, but so far absolutely thrilled. Computer says averaging 23mpg... rides nice... very quiet (even when sunroof open)... great stereo...comfortable (especially ease of entry)... moveable pedals etc, with memory, quite handy...dual zone air a big plus...transmission a beaut...heated seats a "necessity"...xeon headlights a huge advancement...so far; Dealer A+.

Black on beige it has been an eye stopper, road grabber, and the most fun in driving I have had in years. The back seats flip down at a stroke and it becomes my mulit purpose car of the century. After looking at all the crossover vehicles (Pilot, Highlander, Murano and Toureg), we selected the Murano. All the vehicles offered great rides and performance, but we didn’t like the looks of the Honda. It looked very generic SUV. After owning the Murano for five months, we are very pleased. We have had no problems and we just love this vehicle.

The engineering in this new Murano is just amazing. The vehical dynamic contol system keeps this vehical very stable on snow slick roads. It is the most comfortable, safe, quite and reliable vehical I ever had. I was a fleet manager for Chevrolet for almost 20 years and I've driven more cars and trucks then most people. This is truly the new trend for the automotive industry to follow. Crossover SUV

This car is the perfect compromise between sport and utility for a family. Great interior room and incredible looks and performance. Incredible ride. CVT is smooth and powerful - and I love the Ds gear for added power. Even during break-in, I can average 27 mpg on some highway trips. Have had none of the "infamous" rattle problems ... yet (fingers crossed). "Wind buffeting" problems have been fixed - no problems with sunroof or rear windows down at speeds over 45 mph. Got a great deal - invoice in Chicago. Contact me at shindig@lycos.com for more info. For the money and features, blows away the competition.

Its a gem. I'm totally pleased and excited by it. I worried about it being a Nissan, but their quality has definitely improved. Its performance and comfort are comparable to the RX and a better deal. And I cant say how much more appealing it is, design wise, than any of its class competitors.

We had to special order it to get everything we wanted. We got everything possible except the GPS and the DVD player. It took 4 months to get it. Which was one of the negative things about it. Once I got it, it has been great. Very confortable with lots of leg room. Plenty of power. We live in an area with high mountains and have no problems on steep grades. I would like to get better fuel economy but it is better than my last SUV. Much more like a luxury car than the usual SUV. Easier to drive. The two things I don't like about it: The doors do not automatically lock and the fuel gauge doesn't have an audible warning when you are getting low.

We looked for an SUV for about a month and this was the last one we looked at. My first thought was wow, looks like a pregnant space potato. My wife likes unique looking vehicles and once she drove it there was no turning back to the conventional looking SUVs. The 3.5L engine matched with the CVT is fantastic. The back seat is exceptionally large and the seating is very comfortable. The engines power and the CVT makes this one of the best rides we've had in the past seven years. Be sure to work out your best deal with about 4 Nissan Dealers. This vehicle is only 2 years on the market and there weren't any factory incentives at this time.

All I can say is WOW! This is a fun to drive practial everyday run around town or were going on vacation vechile. Gas milage could be a little better but that probably has something to do with that it is so fun to drive I am always going! Roomy, comfortable, user friendly driver instruments, good visual ability while driving. No sissy vechile, has lots of get up and go. Great sound system! Love the dual climate control. And the back seats fold flat for hauling stuff. The cargo area is actually very roomy and extremely adaquate for most anyone.

After looking at Lexus and BMW (crossover SUVs and sedans) to replace my old SUV, I became intrigued by the new Nissan Maxima. I was close to buying one when I mentioned to the salesperson that I was still debating going with an SUV, but really wanted more comfort and power. They steered me to the Murano and I have been in love ever since. The styling, interior design and comfort are exceptional, while the handling and acceleration make driving a pleasure. Even my two college age sons (one has a 4WD Ford F150 and the other a Honda Accord coupe) are very much enamored of my new Murano and are constantly "borrowing" it.

People stop us in parking lots and at stop lights to comment on the style and ask about the car. We have taken it on 3 trips over 1,000 miles one way and had no problems. Overall, I have really enjoyed this car, however, I have had the entire navigation system replaced not once, but twice, in 10 months. They can't tell me why it keeps going out, but said they can't find anything (a short) on the car itself to cause the problem. The car drives great, the sound system is great and I really like the transmission... no "jerking" as it changes gears. Gas mileage has been pretty good (compared to some reviews I've seen) about 20-21.

I purchased my Glacier Pearl Murano ( Leather Package ) after months of deliberation and test driving numerous SUVS. I narrowed it down to the Honda Pilot and the Toyota Highlander. The previous vehicles were nice but donot come close to the Murano in Performance,Handling or Braking. The CVT which I must say after reading some Editors Reviews had me concerned. I just returned from a trip to the Mountains ( Lake Tahoe ) and was Blown away by the Performance. The CVT is SMOOTH and RESPONSIVE. This is a GREAT SUV !! If I encounter any Problems I will Post a Follow Up .

I bought a black SEL at the end of September. I was turning in a leased Jeep Larado and there is no comparison. I wanted another SUV, I like being highter than most cars and I didn't want a vehicle that looked like a station wagon. I had no need for a third row seat and enjoy the roomy interior of my Murano. I haven't notice any issues with the transmission and my son who lives to drive fast cars thought it handles very well. I wanted a navigation system and there wasn't a lot of choices in this price range.

Handles as well as my 3 series BMW. I tried out Pacific (under-powered) and the X5 and found the the Murano compared well against it for alot less. The new transmission creates the best driving experience. Gas mileage is OK, but who cares after you get behind the wheel. Awesome in snow and rain with great steering and tracking. Blew away a Jeep CJ's and Cherokees in a snow storm. Gets more attention than the PT Cruiser did 2 years ago. Nissan did a lousy job advertising this car and the AUTO INDUSTRY MAGAZINES spent too much time on the Infinity. In 2003 the Murano was a far better designed car. My son talked me into trying it. THANKS SON
